See this is why everyone hates this site and its writers...These devs already said dx12 will help them get about 7% boost, but gamingbolt feels the need to mention win 10 kernel will not help...this is the first time I've heard anyone talking about the win10 kernel and mentioning whether that will help at all. Then, they go on to talk about the ps4 cpu and how it was praised by the dev...am I the only one who thinks that is very, very unrelated to the article? Am I also the only one who b...
Ok well I also thought the 30-40% was sounding a bit high for X1 but it sounded for reals and so I was very happy. Still, I think when games are built from the ground up with the newer APIs that we are gonna see some great results. Probably more dealing with overall performance rather than outright visual upgrades in most cases judging by these numbers. Still, not exactly a bad thing. PC gamers should really be excited for this.
@transistor, I'm sorry to get involved here, but are you seriously taking those comments and trying to push them as evidence that someone is delusional about the x1's power? Do you seriously not believe that an in-house, well known, well funded and generally skilled development team like Turn 10 won't show up at e3 with something pretty awesome looking, and do you really not believe that dx12 could be helping with that? sounds to me like that's all anyone is saying. In this gu...
@Gamenamefame: You seem to forget that when many of these devs talk about dx12, especially for Witcher 3 like you mention, they mean that dx12 won't help for a specific game. I don't remember them ever saying it won't help with future titles. Also, Phil has always said it is more dev specific meaning someone who knows their way around the tech or is known for technical wizardry (CDPR etc.) might really be able to get some great results using dx12 while some bone heads making a dec...
@christocolus...I think this is one of the first times any of us are getting a real reason to believe that dx12 can make true impact on x1. I think it has been smart that Phil & Co. have been hesitant to boast dx12 for x1 and if the products end up doing the talking I think that is one of the best way to get respect with the core crowd. I don't need someone bragging and throwing out random numbers...I want proof. I hope we are going to get some more come e3 etc.
@lifeisgamesok...You aren't kidding. This is coming from a good source too who doesn't benefit from spreading false info. I really hope dx12 can do what some claim. And I am really excited to see what Forza 6 might look like next month.
@batzi...I know right? TLoU was such an amazing experience...arguably one of the best ever. It was great that they were able to deliver such an immersive story and beautiful world while still giving us solid stealth and action game play. That being said, it was far from a pure "stealth" game and in the end the "stealth" portions still really can't hold a candle stick to MG and SC. The last of us used stealth in an effective way and it never felt gimmicky or forced. It ...
Im with you. I pick up forza games usually but I really only get so deep into them and I always feel like I don't take advantage of all the game has to offer. I guess I'm sort of a "casual" sim fan. That's why I loved Horizon so much. I would love for this to be UG3
Oh man, if this is underground 3 or a spiritual successor...SOLD.
@batzi..I have to agree. I can't argue with the inclusion of Splinter Cell games, but to not have anything from the Metal Gear series on a list of best stealth games of all time?....haaaa
@rimekseem..There's a reason why one doesn't own 1000 games for a console...you don't like that many games. I don't want to pay 45 beans and justify it by playing games I never wanted to buy in the first place. I hear what you are saying, but I think the price model needs to change.
As it stands, each console has the tech behind it to allow BC via streaming with a disc you already own...they just need to be willing to implement it and perfect it. I'm sure...
I'm actually all for articles like this. I could always use a good laugh.
I wonder how they read my mind and know how tired I'm growing of my big screen and surround sound and accurate controls and better graphics and big triple A titles, many of which won't release for at least another year or two. These guys are really on to something here.
Do I even need to put /s at the end of this comment??
@Transistor, A lot of people seem to disagree, but I think you're right...even if they are the same core franchises, these are the things that most xbox fans have come to love. But don't forget there is also Quantum Break, Tomb Raider (timed, yes, but still exciting) and that we will likely see at least a trailer from Rare, Scalebound and Crackdown. So, yea, take into account "out of left field" surprise announcements (I believe they have confirmed there will be some surpris...
@Aussiegamer1...gotta love the disagrees...I mean just judging by these small clips with a relatively limited environment, the game is looking very good. I mean objectively, there seem to be some real improvements here. go figure man...people.
I am so excited for this. I really can't wait to get a glimpse at Gears 4 (or whatever it will be called).
@inmyopinion...good one
@rocket...way to troll. almost all of the footage thus far has been from pc or ps4. We finally get some xone footage, which looks great btw, and all you can do is complain about the res. I don't get it. Strange.
well said. That's the main reason anyone smart is making a big deal about updates to the consoles and things like DX12. As time goes on, these things will lead to more streamlined, more effecient development cycles and while they will never reach PC-like levels, I think we are gonna be blown away over the next couple of years. Graphically, there have been a couple games on each side that already look great, and I bet Halo 5, Gears, Uncharted will likely harden our nipples. for example, lo...
