I can't wait for someone like ReBurn to come in here and say the PS3 has a lower attach rate.
That's EA, Ubisoft and now Take 2 all having stronger software sales on the PS3 this year.
Hmmm, Take 2 are now reporting 35% from PS3, 28% from 360 and 11% from Wii.
So that's EA, Ubisoft and Take 2 (at the least) who've all sold more on the PS3. Euro and Australasian countries have also had more solid PS3 software sales than the 360 for ages.
Now you 2 are saying the attach rate is higher on the 360, how does that work? PS3 17 million, 360 23 million install base (w/1 years difference, 2 in some regions) ... software sales lower on the 360... how the hec...
Number 1 must be a joke surely?
That is probably the poorest list of exclusives I've seen.
Gears of War 2:
It's Epic/UE3 so doesn't really interest me. Played a little of Gears on PC and thought the script was as booyah as Haze was. If developed by another company I may have more faith in it as art direction is quite cool.
Mass Effect (2):
2 isn't even out and not announced as exclusive, Mass Effect is not exclusive either as it was also on PC. Not really overly fussed to...
The only real problem I have with your post is this: "The attach rate is undeniable proof of that"... I suggest you have a look at global charts (yes global) and also Ubisoft and EA's software profit reports posted this year.
The attach rate from what I've seen is actually quite steadily a lot higher on the PS3.
As for the rest, it's your opinion. Some I agree with/some I don't. But you can't argue a persons perspective, I only have issues with that one sta...
Threat, misinformation, price is unattainable for some, jealousy.
Because practically, there are no other reasons.
Hur hur...
Competition is good, nice try at trying to make it sound like that's the point when it isn't.
Nintendo is a bigger competitive threat then MS yet it isn't the problem. The problem is in the drama MS has introduced, its smoke and mirror tactics.
But hey, if you honestly feel this gen has been 'normal' then knock yourself out.
I agree wholeheartedly, bubble for you.
I was actually the other way around last gen, but MS have brought little healthy into this one, its not doing anyone any favors with all the garbage.
I lost all respect for CNN with this item, the 3 points they gave were seriously out of sync and invalid.
Not to mention they were going off a one weekend year to year comparison in a single country. I thought good journalism was about getting all the facts, guess that's somewhat of a myth.
Too much unnecessary 'drama' this gen.
Not everyone has to quote VGChartz, nice try at trying to shoe horn everything into an easy argument.
There's plenty of first hand info around to get the facts.
Just because YOU want it to be true, doesn't mean it's going to be. Wise up and get realistic.
I think the opposite is also at fault too, you have the other side thrashing anything that looks like it might be half decent months (sometimes years) before release.
If you didn't notice before LBP's release you must have had your eyes closed.
Even so, over a million in sales worldwide for a studios first title is pretty good in most peoples books. Oh that's right, you're taking someone on the opposite sides slanted article as fact.
As for ppl buying m...
Don't be a jerk.
I think in your case the opposite is probably true, you can't afford a PS3 so you're throwing a tizz.
Much like most of your ilk.
It's over a million in sales, some EU and Australasian territories have only had LBP for a month regardless.
Luke from Kotaku needs to stop posting PS3 stuff as he obviously has no love for the platform.
This gen has been pretty retarded as far as facts go, suddenly the US is the world market, scratching at one day sales drops to start posting Titanic type stories on major news networks. It's truly been a saddening generation, especially considering the quality of ga...
What gets me the most out of this (and other similar stories) is that some US media seems to think the world stops at their coastline.
Big deal, it dropped 19% in the US. It really doesn't reflect the rest of the world where the PS3 has made huge gains.
As for the reasons given:
1) It's only the most expensive if you're a bit stupid, factor in the extras and it works out cheaper than buying an Arcade and upgrading/paying subscriptions.
2) If no one...
I wonder how long before MS tries to buy a space...
MS are the biggest shills this side of fanboyisim.
Thing is, with all their constant rubbish talking they actually have people believing it. Guy at work quotes this kind of trash like it's his own words...
...ppl are so gullible.
Trouble with this game is you've got the hardcore Resistance lovers who wanted exactly the same game (remember ppl with the Quake series) and then ppl on the other side of the fence who don't want an exclusive to be any good.
I've played the SP campaign 3 times and putting a lot of hours into the MP. So I think it's fair to say it's an above average game at least (as far as I'm concerned anyway).
I'd give it a 9/10, it's not perfect but it's pretty damn impressive.
I don't see it personally, MS only really has 2 big titles atm with Gears and Halo and I don't see them letting it go.
IMO you're better off with the PS3 and disagree about library of games, once upon of time that was true but now I think as far as quality and diversity goes then the PS3 has the edge.
Having said that I can see a lot of people buying a 360 arcade system, but are they in for a shock when they want DLC space, user made content, have to pay online subscriptions, media center, wireless, true HD products.
Because, unless they spend more than the PS3 they aren't going to g...
Your proof for this?
Actually you probably have a point, ppl who buy a defective product because it's cheaper are less likely to buy nothing much of anything else.
Good point.
