Location wasn't a big problem for me, lack of atmosphere and depth compared to the original was. The game needed to be less bright and saturated.
As a game on its own it's great, as a sequel it broke some conventions that worked well in the original.
4 more multiplatform games and 1 yet to be announced. These 360 exclusive lists are getting stupid.
However I'll give props to Forza 3, other 2 you can keep.
And every single franchise you've listed has been on the PC. None of them apart from the 3 still being developed for PC made an impact on the platform.
4 of those 'exclusives' I can play on my PC, another is simply DLC, while yet one more hasn't even been announced for this gen.
So the top 10 exclusive list through to 2010 boils down to a top 4 with Halo 3: ODST, Forza Motorsport 3, Fable III and Crackdown 2 being the only genuine ones.
List is clutching at straws no?
Unless they have something to say, why do these sites post their dribble?
One thing I've noticed with Halo product advertising, it's very rarely in game stuff if ever. Says a lot for it to be honest. Yet people still buy into it.
Whack.
It's a 3rd of the cost of the game, of course it's done for profit.
I don't think it should be there. Thought that apart from the player models it was very average.
The best fix would be a rollback to the previous firmware.
There is nothing of any use to me, this was meant to be for us the consumers, but all I can see is advertising and micro transacations.Way to thank your user base Sony!
That list is a bit of a joke, for the first time I'd actually go for the sites top 5 over the user votes. RE5 was pretty arse really, Dirt2 is nice but surpassed by GT5 and Forza 3, and lastly... no offence to Halo fanatics but it looks pretty retro/sparse, apart from some nice UI.
Forza 3 should have been in the original list, MW2 shouldn't have. New list is fairly rubbish all round to be honest.
Well I'm hoping they include these things on the game discs, it's a bit insulting being expected to pay when you've bought a title and supported the authors only to get fleeced again.
No worries, sounds like an honest mistake.
DS is expensive, got mine 2 years ago for $700 and were a couple of infamous bundles for the same price as well. The 'fats' probably won't come down in price until the Slims are out in a couple of weeks.
Um no they're not? $599 is the new retail price and that matches the price of the Elite. The Arcade is actually $350, but to even compare that package is silly. No HDD, no wifi, subscription based online etc.
To say that the PS3 is expensive in comparison to a similarly featured 360 bundle is just wrong. Not sure where you pulled the $780 from considering the news of the new pricing is wide spread and they haven't been that price for eons anyway.
By not having an R18 cert for games they either A) ban outright, B) make stupid changes to the game which NZ has to pay for, C) pass a game as M when it's classified as an R18 by your neighbors.
It fails on all grounds.
Not being able to play online is a pretty big negative too.
Brilliant game, not much chop if you can't play it fully though. No client side prediction (or at least minimal) reminiscent of Quake before Quakeworld on dialup, having to release a patch to make connections to low pings a priority when it should have been in the first place.
I'm sure it'll come right, but for all the delays and the beta test they certainly left the online component in a bit of a mess.
This is what they call karma, one week trying to throw their weight around threating not to support other companies, next week gamers threating to do the same to them.
What goes around comes around.
I get the impression the list was a bit of a lark considering some of the positions of those games.
Not to mention the 'exclusive' 360 DLC screenshot for GTA.
While VGChartz isn't 100% accurate it can't be any worse than a lot of the guff here. Taken from Worlwide sales during the first 4 weeks of each games release:
InFamous: 515,683
Prototype PS3: 390,362
Prototype 360: 591,393
So... PS3 users bought 942,045 copies of InFamous and Prototype in the first 4 weeks and 360 owners brought the only option they had at 591,393.
If PS3 users hadn't of had an option they could have bought more of InFamous ...
These sorts of threads annoy me.
It's ONLY the US, it's makes a mountain out of mole hill and then tries to make a point out of it. People fall for it hook line and sinker.
While both sides can be just as bad, the anti PS3 slanted articles definitely clutch at a lot more straws. A lot of the tripe that 'reports' something failing is typically BS, PS3 people generally seem to need less straws.
Tells me a lot.
I suprised Nineball2112's contribution for 'news' made it considering its bias from his/her part.
Reading things it doesn't really sound like a fault of the PS3, rather developer familiarity (or lack of) with the architecture. It's not new news that the PS3 can be harder to code for, although very unusual to hear a dev at this stage of the cycle having problems.
Most developers seemed to have it fairly sussed now, bit of a worry really.
I like how the fanboys jump on sales figures and equate it to which is the better version when it's not. It was marked down on GS due to co-op not working day one on the PS3 because of a bug.
PS3 users aren't so starved for original content, we have a thing called choice. Borderlands in the line up of things is actually pretty minor, I bought it and I can honestly say anyone creating a fuss over it hasn't had much that's decent to play this year. It's okay, nothing startling unle...
