Yeah TItanfall did have an impact. But it was more of a Wii U impact in that it sold well with people who already own the console. But for as big as the game is, i would have thought i'd see even bigger Xbox One hardware sales (The PS4's numbers were rather close globally, for not having any games release). I've seen some Youtube Xbox fans saying the Xbox One would sell 1 Million units in March thanks to Titanfall. That clearly won't happen.
and don't forget, this is before the release of a major PS4 game whereas XBO's 96% is after a major release. meaning the PS4 can see a bump over 74% the following week too

You also have to remember that the Wii U's launch through Dec 2012 was pretty good all around the globe (selling 3.1M in that time span). It was Jan 2013-Sept 2013 where the Wii U sales fell off. But yes, Sony needs to provide Japanese gamers with more games tailored to them

Just to add to that, I look at Kart (and all other popular Wii U titles) as peaks. Because like all console sales there are peaks and valleys centered around the popular games (like Kart 8, as you said). But the Wii U's problem is that the valleys last way, way, way too long, and conversely the peaks are very few and far between. Add to that, the peaks aren't as high as they're expected to be (i.e. Pikmin 3, W101)
Oh, i don't disagree. Kart is the biggest Wii U game (Wii U console mover) in 2014. I was just simply saying it isn't it's only chance. SSB, Kong, and Zelda (when it drops) also have chances to move Wii U consoles, but not as much as Kart (like you said)
Well i think SSB has a chance to save the Wii U as well. Also donkey kong will help some in the mean time. But Bayonetta & X will be more for the Nintendo fans that already exist and won't move incredible amounts of Wii U's
Yeah it looks like that would make the console itself $340. From $500 to $340 in 4.5 months. Retailers must be having a tough time moving those consoles.
