@AngelicIceDiamond
"The Last "Proper" exclusive. So Ori, Screamride, State Of Decay, Massive Chalice and Lifeless Planet don't count to you?" -- I say those should count…And if they count for XB1 than these PS4 exclusives should count too: Until Dawn, Flower, Drawn to Death, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, The Tomorrow Children, Taraway Unfolded, Persona 5…amongst others
As a Sony loyalist, I will admit that Xbox's holiday lineup is WAY better than PS4's holiday lineup (no sarcasm). Xbox loyalists have to admit that their great holiday lineup came at the expense of having no major releases for the first 7-8 months of the year.
@xHeavyx & @Septic
"big exclusive" is a 100% subjective/relative term…For example, I'm a huge MLB fan so The Show is big to me…So are you talking "big exclusive" meaning games that sell a lot, or big budget, or move a lot of consoles, or what?
"At least next year PS4 seems to have a fighting chance with Uncharted and probably the last guardian which is still little to lean on in the long run." -- Yeah, lets pretend Street Fighter 5, Ratchet & Clank & Horizon:ZD don't exist.
1) Naughty Dog
2) Bethesda
3) Rockstar
4) BioWare
5) Insomniac
@Rookie_Monster
"People even back to the x360 predicted many Xbox MS owned IPs games would end up on PC but nothing even came to fruition" -- Too bad all of that is irrelevant when Phil Spencer himself said there would be a greater focus on PC gaming…Do you really think that means 2 separate sets of AAA exclusives per year (1 set for the PC & 1 set for the Xbox One)???
I think its way more logical to believe that Xbox One games like Scalebound, ...
@NatureOfLogic_
You are correct. I should have specified that I was referring ONLY to the United States (which the author said was "the market that really matters").
And that quote alone should have shown the fallacy of the article, in and of itself. Since every non-North American market more than makes up for any gap narrowing that anybody can make up.
"Sales of their console is quickly catching up to their rivals in the market that really matters" -- Sorry…But the console can't catch up until it starts outselling it's rival. At BEST, their console is slowing the rate at which they fall behind (which is different than catching up).
Example: If you sell 1,000 Bicycles in June & I sell 500, then I'm behind by 500. In July you sell 1,000 Bicycles again BUT I sell 750, am I catching up??? -- Answer: ...
@4Sh0w
I don't know about "much" cooler (even though thats subjective). As of now both Microsoft's & Sony's streaming services have Pros & Cons. You've correctly listed the Pros of Microsoft's streaming service & the Cons of Sony's streaming service. But the Pros of Sony's streaming service is that it can be utilized across different networks. So if one were delayed at an airport or stuck in a doctor's waiting room, th...
@Christopher
All due respect, my friend, but the EXACT same thing was said last year when Microsoft announced the Xbox One's price was dropped to $349. Everybody said that Sony would have to make a price cut for PS4 or else they would get pummeled for Holiday 2014…
PS4 did get beat pretty good for Holiday 2014, but still sold more for the entirety of 2014(Jan1st - Dec31st) in America (according to NPD)…And I'll bet the same thing happens this year
@n4rc
If "sold though" numbers are only estimates (and I'm not saying your wrong) then how does Mr. Greenberg know Xbox One was the best selling console in the USA for the week of E3?
I mean, he can't tell just by the number of consoles he shipped E3 week, can he?
AttaBoy, Greenberg. Way to find the silver lining in June's NPD. "I know we lost the game...but at least we won the 3rd quarter"
@xHeavYx
Shenmue 3 & Final Fantasy 7:Remake are probably not in 2016, true…But The Last Guardian, Horizon:ZD & Dreams are all scheduled for a 2016 release (if I'm not mistaken)
This NPD was not so surprising seeing as though the Batman Bundles were the hottest thing moving in June…Great game…Awesome looking PS4 console
Godspeed President Iwata
@DevilOgreFish
How do you know that a "possible" PS4 version wouldn't be 1080p/60fps? I mean look at Tomb Raider:Reboot (developed by the same company). The XB1 version was (1080p/30fps) while the PS4 version was (1080p/60fps)
@moldybread
"it's funny how people who really have no interest in the xbox one continue to try and downplay any advantage it may have" -- Same exact thing with PS4…People downplay the exclusive marketing deals the PS4 has this holiday (from MGS 5 to Battlefront to CoD)
"timed exclusive deals do have an impact, some more than others"…I agree with that…But exclusive marketing deals also have an impact, some more than others. Otherwise (...
And this article shows why console sales matter. 3rd party Pubs/Devs are coming to this crazy conclusion that their games sell better on the platform in the most homes. The more and more 3rd parties notice this, the more they will prioritize the platforms that bring in the most revenue, because 3rd party Pubs/Devs are for profit businesses.
I can't stress enough how much I'm anticipating this game. It look like such a breath of fresh air. I love new IP's & I love RPG's…So I CAN'T WAIT
Yeah…I can't wait to see more from the game and then getting my hands on it when it releases
