@etownone
If the only thing that interests you on the PS4 this whole year is Until Dawn, what have you been playing for the past 7-8 months?
@styferion
Exactly...The nay-sayers seem to not be able to keep up with the facts on the ground:
Guerrilla Games hires Fallout New Vega’s Lead Writer, John Gonzalez in Nov 2013 — http://www.gamespot.com/art...
Guerrilla Games hires 3 CD Projekt Red developers: Back in February, it hired CD Projekt RED’s Lead Cinematic Artist (P...
For the 2015 year as a whole, both consoles will have a similar number of exclusive games (just at different times of the year).
@DarkOcelet
That 2016 line-up is only made better since you didn't even touch on Morpheus & that should bring 3-4 additional 2016 games!!!
I mostly disagree. Exclusives, for the most part, are at their most important when choosing a console. After that choice is made exclusives matter less and less. And its proven in the fact that throughout the generation multi-plats sell better on each console than the exclusives on that console.
Exclusives are at the height of importance when choosing which console to buy (or buy first). After your purchase, exclusives decline in importance. And that is born out in the fact that most individual console versions of multi-plats sell better than most exclusives.
Thats what I'm saying...Get the gameplay from Rockstar & the dialog from Tarantino. HUGE!!!
But getting gameplay for a game has less to do with how well the looks stacks up to the CGI trailer and more to do with how the game actually will look on the screen as it gets played. We have no clue how ReCore will look on TV screens, thats why a peek of gameplay is so important.
I wish Rockstar would collaborate with Tarantino to make Django Unchained/Red Dead Redemption2 type of game…That would be AWESOME!!!!
@SniperControl
People misinterpret slowing the rate at which the gap grows with actually narrowing the gap. And some people don't recognize the difference.
Great job on this article…I love stats, numbers & graphs
Looking at the Playstation and Xbox console cumulative install base in USA (Aligned launches) [ http://gearnuke.com/wp-cont... ], it will be interesting to see how the companies try to keep their current consoles doing better than their preceding consoles (it looks like this will be tougher for Microsoft than Sony)
Well to be fair, PS4 would have contributed a lot more had it got as steep a price drop from the same point last year. But as it stands, its pretty impressive that PS4's sales have remained steady with no official price drop.
@donthate
Actually, if you look at the last graph ( http://gearnuke.com/wp-cont... ) (Cumulative sales gap between PS4 and Xbox One in the USA) the gap has actually been growing since January 2015. In order for the USA sales gap to narrow the Xbox One would have to consistently sell more than the PS4.
Exactly…Its an option to play the game with VR or without VR on the PS4. I, for one, will be getting Sony's VR so I'll be trying this game for sure
Well July's NPD was to be expected since PS4 has won 15 of the 16 non-holiday months…April 2015 being the only exception. But I agree with @xHeavYx, August will be more interesting.
@gamesismylife09
The difference between the Sony hardware that you listed and Project Morpheus is 3rd party support. Almost all of the devices you listed had virtually no 3rd party support, whereas several 3rd party games have already pledged their support for Morpheus (like Project Cars & Ark Survival Evolved). If that 3rd party commitment trend continues AND Sony releases Morpheus at a decent price point then Sony's VR will do just fine (despite your Sony hatred) ...
"Dev Wants To Reach As Many Possible With Titanfall 2" -- aka…Devs want more revenue from Titanfall 2 than they got from Titanfall 1
Every time I see more of this game it draws me further and further in…CAN'T WAIT!!!
@WowSoChill
You "cant name any 3 big Games for Sony this Year"...You do know the highest rated AAA game so far in 2015 is a Sony exclusive, right? Now you may not like the game, and thats fine.
But to say you "cant name any" big Games for Sony this year???...Hmm, seems like a bit of selective thinking to me.
