"and it runs on Windows. Well 90% of the gamers on PC use Windows. And after SteamOS crashed and burned, this won't change anytime soon."
Thats an irrelevant statement. Thats like saying ComEd is the biggest video game provider in the USA...Why??? Because ComEd is the biggest electricity provider in the USA, and how are you going to play your video games without electricity???
I concur. Since both games are fairly similar, being able to play both beats having to choose.
$999 TV for consoles...What??? Sorry my friend but 1080p/120hz TV for less than $400 are readily available. A $400 PC sure as heck aint running Rift better than PS4 runs SonyVR...Rift won't even work on a PC at that price.
SonyVR's biggest strength is that gaming is a hobby, not a necessity. And therefore people's hobby decisions are primarily based on their disposable income. And that instantly makes the SonyVR more palatable than Rift.
This isn't much of a surprise since most of the AAA multiplats this generation have better frame rates on PS4.
I'm sorry but the people who argue that the lack of power in these consoles will be a main (or major) reason why this console generation will be short...need to open their eyes.
I agree that the consoles have had HUGE trouble getting to 1080p/60fps. I also agree that they look woefully underpowered compared to the PC.
My point is, based on both Xbox & Playstation division revenues, the lack of power DOESN'T MATTER. Consumers are buying regardles...
I can't wait for Horizon:Zero Dawn...That game will be UNBELIEVABLE!!!
@The_Infected
Yeah, cause the other consoles have been putting out all new exclusives with all their new bundles, all year, right?
Wow, both XB1 & PS4 look to have stellar 2016 lineups... Great for gamers all around
@Crimzon
I see where your coming from but I'm going to disagree. You have to remember that half of the 7th generation(Holiday 2005-Oct 2013) took place during the great recession(Recession starting in Oct 2008).
And while I agree that disposable income in 2015 isn't nearly as good as pre-great recession, its been getting better every year since its low point in 2009-2010. And Halo:Reach released in Sept 2010, yet it still moved more consoles in its ...
The Article does show a great reference point of Halo 3 (which released on Sept 25, 2007). Halo 3 helped move 550,000 Xbox360s for September 2007's NPD. Meanwhile Halo 5 (which released on Oct 27, 2015) helped move 305,000 Xbox Ones for October 2015's NPD.
I never said you were interested in every game, because your interests don't matter to me
It would be nice to actually see an official release date and more information on EVERY game
I love how she runs in place...PRICELESS
The problem with his statement & yours, is that you can't compare the PS4's power vs XB1's power on exclusives since you'll never know how well the other platform will run the exclusive. Thats why we have to compare multiplats when comparing power. And most multiplats have better resolution & better frame rates on PS4...There's a power difference
@Satyre28
"Matter of fact there isnt one exclusive on PS4 that is 1080P 60FPS." -- MLB 14 & MLB 15 are both 1080p/60fps on the PS4
Best lineup in Xbox history...maybe...Best lineup in "Gaming" history? NOT A CHANCE...PS2's Holiday 2001 was the "BEST lineup in Gaming history" http://images.pushsquare.co...
Question(not taking shots, I just honestly want to know): When Sony & Microsoft reveal their 9th generation offerings, how will Nintendo prevent the NX from falling into the same underpowered pitfall the Wii U fell in?
Is Xbox getting the old school Star Wars games? If so, do they get early access to those old school Star Wars games too?
To further that point, whether or not you believe Sony has delivered the games you want to see, its plain to see that Sony designed the PS4 with only gaming in mind. Whereas Microsoft designed the Xbox One with entertainment in mind. And by doing so, I believe they mis judged the market thinking that people wanted a console for entertainment when most people (thus far) want a console for gaming.
That would be awesome. And with Microsoft owned IP, its very possible. But with 3rd party owned IP, its highly unlikely since you'd be asking 3rd parties to give up either their Xbox or PC revenue streams.
Right now, 3rd parties are making revenue off both the PC & Xbox versions of their games. With what your suggesting, 3rd parties would be giving up one of those revenue streams. I don't see that happening
