No cloud save back up to protect from hardware failure or hardware migration i.e. PS3 fat to slim.
The features offered are decent but certainly a whole lot was overlooked in this.
...cross game chat, cloud backup saves, beta access, free Qore / region equivalent access, PS1 game trophies, PSP games playable on PS3 (reverse remote play), ps2/ps1 game backwards compatibility and who knows what else.
It's been a long time coming and may still not make 2010 although I really hope so.
My biggest fear (I'd love to be proved wrong) is that it will include lots of cool stuff but skip on some basics such as car damage and good AI for drivers.
AI drivers should be aware if someone is driving next to them adjust accordingly rather than simply shunting you of the track so they can follow the driving line. If it is supposed to be based on real driving then...
...... hallelujah!! Sony heard us!
but there is a very good chance both games will arrived packaged as something else like "Mass Effect Saga".
Only so long EA can not monetize this further.
Pro Evolution Soccer (current gen versions only) - persistently broken multi player never fixed in 2 sequels
Lair - very shallow on rails game regardless of control system
Most Transformers games
Bionic Commando - Invisible Walls of Death & No backtracking
Agreed.
Too many of our PS3 owners have tunnel vision towards games played by "the competition".
They don't understand that it's games like Gears, Halo & Mass Effect that force Sony to stay on their toes and make good games in return. Without this we'd be left with significant lesser experiences.
Anyone who wouldn't be interested in seeing Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect, Halo or Metroid on PS3 is extremely blinkered.
@ Omega4
Whilst it's not likely to see Gears 1 or 2 "as is" on PS3 it is never about who has publishing rights only IP rights.
If Gears is property of Epic et al then should they wish they could publish Gears Of War Sigma for example.
With studios not owned by the console operator but essentially make exclusive games such as Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Insomniac, Quantic Dreams etc it's all about IP ownership. This is the key factor behind the...
..I'm less bothered about ignoring the source and far more annoyed that they are just bad movies.
You could close your eyes at the end credits and imagine the name Uwe Boll somewhere in there.
please please please please please please please please please please please STOP MAKING THESE GOD AWFUL VIDEO GAME MOVIES.
RE1 was mediocre and they've got steadily worse. The "creator" of the movie series Paul W Anderson is the mirror opposite of King Midas, everything Anderson touches turns to excrement.
We all accept DD is the future. Heck it even accounts for significant portion of the here and now.
The problem is companies who see it as a way to screw the consumers rather than lower costs at both ends. Sony right now is either purposely or ignorantly screwing people with the PSP GO.
iPhone/iTouch have been immensely popular and Android is following the trend of providing high quality experiences through mini-apps at very low prices. Furthermore with a few minor ex...
...for DD. The benefit of DD is it is accessible to all.
If dd prices remain equal to or higher than umd it solves nothing.
If there is a time delay or regional licensensing issues on DD it solves nothing.
If PSP2 learns nothing from these lessons Sony will DO NOTHING!
...to come to PS3. Not to annoy 360 owners, just because it's a great game.
Although BioWare has time and time again said "not gonna happen" the same was true of BioShock and Ninja Gaiden.
...Western Journalism reporting on something that they have no concept about.
Whilst I don't condone this kind of game, Japan's culture is vastly different to Western countries and CNN is just poking it's nose in to boost ratings.
It would be like Japan's new stations reporting on how the US are scouring the globe looking for U.S. tax exiles because they are required to pay tax to a country that haven't lived in for years.
Imagine what will happen when GameCrush becomes compatible with NATAL lol
AND
Imagine the response when GameCrush launches for Wii where everyone already has the wrist action perfected.
No comparison. They may share RPG underpinnings but they are completely different. Putting them head to head does both games injustice.
The article is clearly labelled COUNTERPOINT. That means it's an alternative look at GOW3 from a critical eye.
Remember the actual review for GOW3 was 10/10.
So much ignorance about global affairs. This Google pulling out comes as a direct result of the US providing China with info regarding the "back door" they requested so that they could monitor US citizens as they see fit.
Also China has 1.65b people, a lot of them live in rural areas with little or no education. The Government is doing their best to limit exposure to information that would be inappropriate for uneducated people to receive.
The US has over ...
If MS had supported HD-DVD as a gaming format not just a movie after thought then we would not be having this conversation.
Ah well.
The core mechanics have always been sound.
The major flaws which need to be addressed are: vehicle damage & performance after damage has been taken; AI drivers following the racing line showing no humanity (they'll pile into each other if the race line is there) AND online races being more about shunting cars off the road rather than actually driving/racing - could be fixed with time penalties incurred for car to car contact (as an optional filter).
I...
