Live (as a service)is more than online gaming and loaded with things you may not need or want (ESPN). Let's be honest, if the online gaming portion of Live was free, over half the people who pay for Live, wouldn't. Period.

You want to pay for Live, that's your choice. But I do not believe in paying to play online.

Pretty pathetic this article has more hits than the actual gameplay article not 2 posts below it.

Again with the logic. This is a day 1 buy for me, so is Enslaved, Castlevania, and Force 2.

Booyah, October wallet rape!

Day 1 buy!

Don't be silly, it'll be Mass Effect 3.

But people vote with their dollars. Buying Live cards as the price continues to rise basically says consumers are okay with it. When does it end?

It's that mentality that sinks us though.

It's only $4 for horse armor!

It's only $10 more to play online!

It's only $8 more for another character (BlazBlue)!

It's only $15 more for a few more maps (MW2)!

It's only $600 more for a PS3!!!

It adds up. When does it end?

sigh. Tacked on MP that will die in a month. We need to stop forcing devs to add this crap.

5670d ago 8 agree2 disagreeView comment

San Andreas was better. Also the MP modes were tacked on and poorly designed.

Well said Soad, as always.

This is how we got $15 mappacks, IMHO.

5671d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

But then someone else will claim that GoW3 is not a $60 title because of no MP. Someone will claim Halo Reach is worthy of $130 because of the MP and Forge. That's why this kind of pricing will not work.

People vote with their dollars! If 2 million $15 mappacks are sold, why would Activision do anything different I ask?

Cool. Enjoy spending $150 per year on XBL subscriptions if that were to happen!

Replayed GE007 and PD on the 64 last weekend with some old friends from out of town. Still fun, still amazing. Did it age? Yes. Still compelling and fun? Def. No other FPS on a console has given me such longevity and pure fun.

Why get MGS Rising without playing MGS1, 2, 3, 4, PW, PO.... I mean you'll be totally lost!

Wow, the damage control being done is sad.

5672d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

Fanboy damage control.

Kind of like how you compared ODST's sales, which released later than MGS4? Oh wait, it only applies when the later selling game sold more now? Please. ME1 outsold ME2. Is it thus a better game? ODST outsold AW, is it thus a better game? Hell, even though they're different genres, lets pull out the "AW flopped while Heavy Rain crushed it and it's just a movie!" card! Round and round the stupidity goes. Give it a rest, both sides.

Instead of playing the &...

There's no reason for third party exclusives. Game development is expensive, and it's stupid to limit yourself to a single console base. But yes, on the flip side, we do need first party exclusives to push forward development and give a reason to select one console over another. Like anything, it's a balance that must be maintained.
