I see multiple people here who didn't read this article and still have no clue what really happened.
The review was NOT SATIRE. It was a REAL REVIEW, even if it was a crappy one.
Metacritic is not at fault here at all, either. They did not arbitrarily assign a score to the review. The writer of the review gave it a score, the Washington Post just chooses to post their reviews scoreless.
5/10?
His review reads like he really liked it, but then he gives it a 5?
I'm not sure I understand this site's scoring system.
Glad somebody else gets that it wouldn't work as a current game.
It could probably work as a mediocre cellphone game or something, but that's about it.
It would have to be a completely different game from what it was originally to stand out in today's world.
I'm so glad to see this game getting good reviews, I hope it sells really well.
I was just worried that there was no longer a place in today's gaming world for a shooter that didn't involve hiding behind a crate while your health recharges.
I hope Snapmap takes off and people create a bunch of cool things.
I have had a PS4 since launch day and until I saw that image in the article I had absolutely no idea that there was a power button symbol and an eject symbol on those two buttons.
I have to look when I get home later because I honestly don't remember ever seeing an icon labeling either button.
Wasn't it confirmed that:
1) This was not a satire review
2) They don't post a score with their reviews, but they send it in to Metacritic separately
Yes, here we go.

That score, although not displayed on their review, was legit, so everyone needs to quit freaking out about it.
If the game is so damned good, why not go play the damn thing instead of starting petitions because somebody else didn't like it.
My god, Sony fans are just plain ridiculous sometimes.
You're missing the point, how can anyone give an accurate review of something when they can't use it properly themselves?
I can't ride a skateboard, so if you give me a couple of them and let me bust my ass trying to do it, then I go tell a regular skateboarder the pros and cons of each board, I'm pretty sure he isn't going to take my opinion very seriously.
That's just one analogy. Same could be said of any product.
...
You people are insane. It was all I could do to finish that mess once.
Neat story, terrible gameplay. I don't understand the obsessive fanboyism for that game.
Yeah I'm not done yet either, probably more than half way through, though... And I am in love with it.
I'm pretty sure this is my favorite shooter ever.
It's a damn shame the multiplayer is ruined with all the modern day loadout BS, instead of just having weapons on the map like the old days.
I don't see the problem with them. It's not like they are long drawn out things that take 5 seconds, they are over before you know it and don't interrupt your flow at all.
If an enemy is almost dead and I'm right there close to it, I'm probably going to melee it anyway. So a "fancier" way to melee things to death seems to make sense to me.
I think that, honestly, the main reason they did it is to encourage people to play th...
This shocks me.
I really expected this game to bomb.
I don't understand why people keep comparing Overwatch and Battleborn, they are completely different games.
That isn't even "huge" nowadays.
I loved UC 1 and UC 2. Couldn't get into UC 3 because it had the worst and most boring intro section of any game I've ever played. That whole part where you play as child Nate. Felt like it drug on for hours and then when the real game finally started I just couldn't go on.
I need to force myself through it so I can play UC 4, though.
Never played any of their old stuff, but as for TLOU, I'm that one guy that thought it was garbage. I on...
The only real negative thing she had to say about the game was about the final part of the game.
So why everyone is convinced she didn't even play the whole thing doesn't really make sense to me.
She had one negative thing to say about one part of the game, and gave it a great freaking score, I'm really confused as to why anyone is upset.
Is it just automatic that a Naughty Dog game gets 9+, or else everyone has to get hyste...
5 Gb is kind of small nowadays, honestly.
I wouldn't get too worked up about it, especially since it won't stop anyone from playing.
I get the MOBA part for sure, but MMO?
What part of this game could be even remotely confused with an MMO?
Shots Fired.
I see it has been changed.
Let me just say, I had no problem with it being rated a 5, they can score it however they want, it just didn't seem to fit with the text of the review.
