It's not even that I think the combat is "bad". I just personally don't care for it.
That's why I said that it's hard to say if he'd like it without knowing what kind of combat he likes.
Someo of the recent Assassins Creed games had missions where you walked with somebody until you reached a certain location, and if you didn't actually stop and wait, your would reach the starting point and miss the end of the conversation.
That was terribly piss-poor design, in my opinion. Make the guy take the scenic route if you have to, but don't cut me off from hearing the dialog just for slowly following the guy like I'm supposed to be doing.
Hard to say without knowing what kind of combat you like in your RPGs.
I wanted to love the game but the combat is too slow and clunky for me. I hate it.
Not sure what else to compare it to, except maybe Demons/Dark Souls a little bit?
Just to elaborate on my comments, I said "a few" because I honestly don't know of any games they made before Uncharted.
I only learned from the comments on N4G that they were responsible for Crash Bandicoot, which I never played or had any interest in.
So I'm judging them strictly on 4 games. UC 1-3, and TLOU.
I really liked UC 1 and 2. Couldn't get into 3, it bored me out of my mind at the beginning and I never made i...
This might be the most ridiculous and unbelievable comments section I've ever read on N4G, and that really says something.
Naughty Dog makes a few decent games and these people just WORSHIP them. It's unreal.
Worst game that everyone thinks is amazing?
Just my opinion, but I don't get the Witcher at all. I tried it but the combat and really movement in general is so clunky it's just awful.
I'm glad somebody else "gets it".
Yeah that seems like a terrible decision to me.
Mike Lemonade that is a terrible analogy.
This isn't a direct competition with a clearly defined score declaring a winner.
It's basically a huge advertisement for future games.
Going into it already decided on what you like and don't like seems pretty silly.
You're just seeing the complainers on both sides.
The people bitching are always the loudest. But it isn't literally the same people.
I've never once complained about a "downgrade". I'm sick of even seeing that word.
I like Fallout so I'm excited about this game. If it looked exactly like Fallout 3 I'd still be excited about this game.
But for every one of me there are two people ready to...
Yeah no kidding. Witcher looks amazing but it plays like a pile of turds.
I don't get it either.
A graphics masterpiece is all fine and good to look at, but it doesn't make the game good.
I could go back and play Fallout 3 right now and have a bunch of fun, and I wouldn't be giving a damn about how it looks.
No, that was the bane of last generation, when you had to wait for them to download and install.
Xbox One does them all silently in the background while it is turned "off".
I wouldn't even notice it had updated most of the time, unless I notice a new feature or check the preview dashboard app.
Do you not use the background downloads option so it updates itself while in standby?
I can't imagine joining the preview program and then not using that option, it's like you are asking to be annoyed a couple times a week while you have to wait for an update.
I thought that was just for the subtitles?
You guys need to quit pretending you don't like looking at naked people just so you seem all morally superior.
I never hear anything about games being "just a bunch of pixels" until somebody tries to make it a point to advertise that they are too cultured to enjoy naked video game characters.
It's just funny to me. The people in current day games look pretty real. There isn't anything wrong with looking at them in "that way"....
I'm so sick of these kind of articles.
We get it. Japan doesn't like Xbox.
We've known that for what, 14 years?
Don't forget that Respawn said that without MS, Titanfall wouldn't have happened.
This wouldn't be unheard of for them to step in and buy exclusivity to allow the game to be finished.
Konami doesn't want it anyway. They have no reason to just sit on it if somebody is willing to pony up the cash to buy it.
Edit: Just to clarify, I don't see any way they spend a billion dollars on this, but I wouldn't rule out the possi...
Inventory font still way too small. :(
Different strokes for different folks, WellyUK.
I love both of those games, combat included. I also love games like Dragons Dogma and Kingdoms of Amalur.
Souls series and Witcher just doesn't do it for me. It's not because they are "hard" either, they are just terribly slow for my taste. I don't like the slow methodical combat.
There's no right or wrong here, I was just trying to answer the guy's question by...
