It isn't desperation, it is just simple economics. To be fair, Sony's momentum and greater market share has allowed them to remain at 400 over the past year or so while MS pushed down to 350. So yes, sony dropping to 350 prob pushed MS's hand, but in general I wouldn't really call it desperation.
Yea good point. They might be looking to try out something in a subtle way and then base some decisions on their new project(s) on how fans react. Even if the feature isn't great or groundbreaking, as long as it doesn't ruin the pace or become intrusive then no harm done. To be fair though, I don't really see ND adding anything to an UC game that they aren't confident will fit well...they know what the fans want and they deliver.
@luke..i think he means among the consumer. Of course no business sets out to loose or wants to loose....but if someone likes one phone/console/software etc. that tends to sell less...does that mean that person looses????? doesn't losing require some sort of competition to exist in the first place? Isn't the competition between the company, not the consumer? If someone owning something doesn't threaten you or take anything from you...or if them switching to what you prefer doesn...
breakpad...the fact that you say MS should full blown drop the console business just proves you know nothing about the industry, business, economics in general or probably anything else related that one could name. I won't even start going into detail here as that would mean i would be beating a dead horse that is deader than the one you are beating.
I am not a fanboy or anything close to it...but do you honestly think that MS is really hurting the industry? Do you really...
@ captain wormy...I think that remains to be seen. But yes, VR is more relevant right now and certainly closer to consumers hands. But hololens does seem like it has cool potential. Maybe it will wow us, who knows. Unless they repeat the whole "project natal will change earth and cure cancer and peter molynuex talking to wierd virtual kids" thing.
Oh Ok I see now. Thanks for clearing that up a bit. TBH I'm not really super hyped for VR (not saying I won't like it, but it's just not really on my radar). So I probably just didn't really pay enough attention to what was going on with that announcement.
@kfk...the virtual display and the possibilities of it sounds cool and I am excited that such a feature should be possible with both ps4 and x1. I am more likely to pursue VR with ps4 since it will be direc...
wait why all the disagrees to darkocelet? I thought Oculus was supposed to be compatible with x1 and this was spoken about at e3 or one of the big conferences...am I remembering wrong or missing something?
@yi-long...hmm, I am hoping just the opposite. I have zero interest in the jrpg and the like. Japanese culture, as with any, has many intriguing aspects. To each his own. But I just never saw the draw with the types of games someone like yourself is clearly interested in. To be fair, if that is your thing, than ps4 is your place to be. I have ps4 and x1 but still don't play those types of games.
Just my take on it tho. I'm not arguing against the genre or japanse gam...
well they coulda slapped some big flappin tits on there if they wanted, but i think they wanted her to be attractive without being just digital jerk-bait. i think the new lara comes off as very attractive but in a non-sleazy, respectable sort of way. lets face it, the old lara's chest was just ridiculous and especially in the current climate with gender in gaming, making her have massive eye-popping boobs bouncing with every single motion would prob just be offensive.
ah i disagreed before i got it, and then i read it again...i take it back *___*
bubble up kid
i agree in general...but my x1 runs dead quiet and cool. so, i cant really complain. my ps4 in contrast is also unintrusive and hasnt given my issues with heat. the smaller size and internal brick are impressive and well done sony..but i dont mind the bigger console considering how quiet it really is.
tongue bath!
@doctorfraud...that's because they are using some of the experiences with other ubi shooter franchises. So yea they really did get the gunplay down and I felt that was one aspect that it had over its peers. I had some legitimate fun with the game and it is too bad that its own over-hype train will forever overshadow what should be looked back on as a decent and fun game.
@spotie...it's new in the context. We all know none of the basic hardware/servers etc. required for cloud compute is new, nor is the very concept of it. Using it on a large scale in the ways that companies like MS intend to use it (i.e. Crackdown 3) is new if you ask me. I am sure there will be some hurdles and it will take time, but it is exciting to think that we are on the cusp of seeing this stuff really come to fruition. And of the coming years I think cloud compute will play a big r...
yea i dont really go by vg, but im sure this game did put up some impressive numbers.
If ND felt it was a good idea, they would do it. They are some of the best. I don't take issue with Halo 5's dynamic res, it seems to work well for campaign and the MP is full 1080 at a smooth 60. So that worked for Halo 5 and the xbox one. By all accounts so far, ND should jut keep doing what they are doing. Can't wait to grab the finished product, shut my blinds, lock my door, open a 12 pack and have my tits blown off!
I agree that UC is more a SP game, but considering the amount of people who seem to really like the MP you would think it might be there. I don't regret picking up UC collection and it was a good value...but MP would have been nice.
pretty sure he tweeted first with face-palm emojies mocking poor x1 sales of TR and better Fallout sales on PS4 and then someone asked about the PS association with TR..and then he tweeted in response to that. Don't try to pretend this guy didn't just pull a Greenberg. Even Sony can have bad PR...and has in the past. No one is perfect.
thats pretty cool
