TLoU didn't have the very best shooting or stealth or the best of any other gameplay mechanic...but it was all really solid and worked extremely well to deliver the story and drive what was an overall amazing experience. It was polished, beautiful, scary, fun, emotional, exctiting and so on. There will always be detractors, but who cares? The vast majority of gamers know that this game was seriously awesome.

lol. i pretty much just have memories of getting lost in dark, low-res textured caves in the n64 version! but seriously this game deff brings up some memories and was cool for the time. i had no idea there was even a remake

@pixel..I agree, team killing is the major issue. Admittedly I haven't yet seen any of the cheating discussed in the article, though it would certainly upset me. Hopefully Ubi address that before it becomes more wide-spread. The game is far from unplayable and I am really enjoying it on my X1, but they do need to fix the issues. In addition what I would call "rampant" team killing, the game also has frequent server issues with partying up etc. and some lag issues (though the lag...

was just gonna say the same thing. would love a sort of 1:1 remake like this of the whole game. maybe just freshen up the controls a bit. replaying the campaign would be so much fun and online MP would be sick! The game IMO would have to cost far less than $60 bucks though as even with a fresh coat of paint i dont think it would justify full price.

ps: classic rare pretty much still owns the title of best video game sound tracks IMO.

@emad,

I am not sure of the politics and all in all the deal must give acti some control over pricing of content etc. that being said, it is sort of disheartening they way bungie is handling things with the lay out of content and dlc. these guys were once looked upon as the some of the best in terms of how they treated fans. i just felt that the way you said it in your first comment made it sound as if these guys just werent adept in creating games. but i see what you are say...

emad...everything you said is right except for the "worst developer" part. If the devs were the worst then the ga,e couldn't be the "best gameplay experience", as you say. What would be fair to say is that the developers are handling it poorly, or at least have in the past. I'm done with the game now, but they really did start getting it somewhat right with TTK, even if it was a bit too pricey (blame that on the publisher).

ppl maybe get the wrong idea from my post...huge fan of the game. im just being honest that i understand where some ppl find it a little lacking. its one of the better fps games ive played in some time and i wil surely be getting the next installment.

3hrs seems like a bit of an exaggeration...but to each his own.

I do agree that there wasn't really enough there for the type of players who bought this game. I myself played it for a couple months frequently, and then came back here and there. I can still hop on and have fun, albeit short lived.

Overall great game, just light on content. I have high hopes for the next game. Should be my go-to "aderall-maniac shooter". For the mean time I have R...

That's pretty cool. I would much prefer this type of thing with my ps4 though. That controller dies more times than Kenny McCormick

@dcbronco...bubble up brah.

I don't see how this is "flamebait". The article isn't really telling us anything new...but then again either are the countless resolution articles and sales hard-on articles we get crammed into our heads daily. This is just an article about something gamers may or may not choose to take interest in. At the end of the day, while none of what Crackdown aims to do has been proven yet.....if it does work the way it aims to, then yea ...

I'm glad they are taking whatever time they need. If you really want to play ratchet, you will play it either way.

hmm. Idk really, it depends. I have installed from disc and installed via download and I can tell you the disc is much, much faster. X1 games are much larger in size than 360 games. Also, the reason 360 games download (as oppossed to install direct from the disc) has to do with the way BC works...at least that is what I understand. In the case of x1 games, it is prob much quicker to just let the disc install for an hour or two rather than download for possibly much longer, and that still depe...

Yea the game didn't come out as a "perfect 10 best game of the year" type of title, and I know the exclusivity didn't help (both in available audience and negative publicity among many gamers), but deff a must play for any action/adventure player IMO and if you have x1 try the demo and I bet you will love it.

I know the holiday season is a time of big sales and that things slow down in the first couple months of the new year, but MS could have dropped this g...

Yes, but it is nice because now you can do all of the games in one sitting taking only minutes and then move on to anything else, such as another game or even just leave the room and then you can play games as they finish. Not really a big feature or option so much as a nice little work-around to save some time.

@kwietStorm...exactly. In Ra3030's case, he would have to buy any game because he never owned them. Speaking in terms of disc-based games, the same goes for anyone, except that if you owned the game in the past, hopefully you held on to the disc.

The difference for prior 360 owners is that any digital game they have downloaded in the past will automatically be available for them on xbox one for no additional charge (provided the title is included in the BC program).

Well, let me just push all the fanboy boners out of the way real quick.......

This shows to me that our industry is growing. If Xbox one sold 1 console and ps4 sold 200 million, the console market as a whole would still be bigger. So, consoles are not doomed, and there is money to be made.

If anything, I bet continued market growth will likely push MS to stick around. Let's face it...X1 may have failed to overcome Sony, but it still didn't "fail&...

I agree. Ya know, they still haven't fully shed the negative image left from the 2013 reveal and following months. The console has actually come a pretty far way in terms of image and sales, but ultimately much of the hardcore crowd has already made up their minds and Sony has taken some serious momentum and carried it through. I could go on and on about what I like about x1 or what makes it good...but it has all been said before. Besides, I have each current-gen console and don't wan...

@strawberry diesel, thanks for the immature, off-topic reply man. UC remastered and LoU remastered both look really good and run great, but neither looks nearly as good as RotTR. Stop trolling. Yes TR has some tech issues, but they don't hinder the overall experience and at the end of the day the game is surely more demanding than the remasters you cite.Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying RotTR is breaking any ground visually, but you're being ridiculous man.
