It is very good on Switch 2. It runs and looks great and it’s a lot of fun.
The gameplay is still top notch for a TPS. The added graphics make it modern. The bar on this type of game hasn’t been raised enough since then to warrant docking it down to a 5. It’s just silly. Clearly the clickbait works though.
Was thinking the same. They’re entitled to their opinion on the rating but Gears 1 is clearly not in the same tier of “mixed” quality as Bubsy and other “meh” rated games.
And ill still have no interest.
Agreed. I’m around 40 hours into it and rarely see any frame rate issues and agree that they seem to be blown of proportion since DF mentioned it in their analysis. And I’m not some “noob” gamer. I have over 200 physical Switch games and a massive Steam library (been gaming since I was an 80’s kid).
From what I’ve seen on other platforms, FSR 1 has less latency and is a more performant solution latency wise. Visual quality would be higher with DLSS and frame gen but the a...
This looks excellent!
Skies of Arcadia 1 and 2 is truly an awesome series of games. I hope that Sega remasters them some day. I would love for a physical full-fat release with all the extras from development to give new players a chance to become fans of the series. Thanks for doing a new review to shine some light on this wonderful lost gem.
Revenue =/= profits. Also this takes nothing into account the losses it causes in the industry both at retail and with developers.
Epic store exclusive is why I missed it, honestly. Developers need to learn from all the games that have missed the mark because of bending to that sweet, sweet Sweeney / CCP cash. World of Goo 2 did the same thing and I forgot it existed until I saw it was finally on Steam. It kills the hype and by the time these games hit Steam they’re old news and have to come on sale for folks to notice them.
Avowed is great. I have 70+ hours into it.
lol, iFixit has just mastered cheap clickbait headlining. After reading and watching their breakdown I don’t see how it’s “piss poor”.
It’s a fantastic controller and feels great in my hands, no small part of which is due to how tightly assembled it is and smooth the surfaces are without exposed screw holes. If this thing is anywhere as tough as my old launch day Switch 1 pro controller (which still works perfect), then this one will be perfectly fine.

It’s tiny and draws under 10W. The performance per watt is extremely impressive even compared to other cutting-edge offerings in the PC handheld space.
The part that I fear most is now that they have gobbled up IP’s that were once vibrant from studios that prided themselves on “when it’s ready” release schedules, those treasured IP will begin to die off and not come back. Perfect Dark is the most recent example, but I fear the worst for other treasured franchises like Elder Scrolls. The writing was on the wall for most of us that opposed this mass consolidation. If you love gaming, and you love the IP, MS buying it all up should have been...
Pretty much just clickbait opinion. IMO, Switch 2 is everything I loved about Switch, but much more refined and perfected. As someone with a huge library of physical Switch 1 games, I’m stoked with the enhanced performance on my existing games, and very excited for the future once devs start optimizing engines for the platform. Game Chat is excellent, the controllers are excellent. Anyways, I love it so far.
My review: yes. I have a huge Switch library so getting boosted FPS on games I already own and new generation titles is awesome. Hardware is top notch. Game key cards are lame though.
Already pre-ordered on Steam. The beta play test last weekend was excellent.
I still love my PSVR2. PC support was a big win as well. On sale, it’s an unbeatable value and it’s got plenty of great content at this point.
I didn’t realize Beat Saber was still getting updates. It’s pretty old at this point.
Having used Dual Sense, Pro Controller 1, and 8BitDo Ultimate extensively, I am pretty much in love with Pro Controller 2. The easy reassignment on the grip buttons is such a big plus, but the soft edge joysticks are the best feeling sticks of any controller I’ve ever used. It’s really an awesome controller. The HD Rumble 2 also finally has some thud and the headphone jack is great with a pair of good phones. It’s worth the slight price increase IMO.
Cool. A step in the right direction but it’s still fairly bloated with typical Microsoft filler. I’ll be sticking with SteamOS for the foreseeable but happy to see MS working to compete in the space.
