Lol. DLSS is a crutch to let games render at hugely lower resolutions.
It's great for raytracing, b/c raytracing is slow to the point of needing it, and the blur is less noticable in a ray-traced title, with all the amazing lighting.
It would be terrible for regular games, which is the implication here, and every ray-traced title will have something like it -- this really isn't news. "PS5 will have unified shaders!" that's the nove...
PS5 will sell out for sure this holiday... every new console does. Then people will realize what a rip it is, and come to their... no they won't, who I am kidding? Sony fanboys will pretend they enjoy spending extra money on proprietary drive space, and then go on rants about how they cross streaming boundaries in games just so they can persist in the one place the PS5 might have a performance advantage over the XSX.
Go Sony! Lol. Bleed those suckers dry
"Because fanboy" is really the only reason to buy a PS5, at this point, I think.
Enjoy that second-rate console, where you have to pay for BC before late 2013, and wear headphones while you play at a lower frame rate, to cancel out the noisy fan while playing on a serious TV.
That's funny, because this is the first time I probably will not buy a Sony console at all. Steam + Xbox will just plain be better.
I have actually been visiting N4G a lot less these days, due to the clearly biased "filtering" going on with incoming news/rumors/opinions. A lot of the best stuff to read ends up in the failed submissions bin, and fails several times over until it's too old.
I actually see rumors fail *because* they are rumors, and are properly tagged as such!
Lame. Book burning was something I thought we all realized was a bad idea. Apparently some folk...
Once that load time is over, I feel like the PS5 is not gonna look so great. That would be, you know, most of the game.
I think I'll wait for a reliable build and some decent exclusives before I jump onboard.
So... PS1 emulation totally possible on PS4, and yet... Sony won't give it to us.
Fascinating.
Games were $40 in the early 90s, and $50 in 2000.
$70 is completely reasonable, some two-three *decades* later. Check out inflation since that time, and tell me I'm wrong, I dare ya.
They only know how to make movie/cinematic action games, so they should stick with what they can do. "Branching out" would be a huge mistake.
It's pretty funny to hear all the "we played them already" combined with "enjoy your 480i" from the fanboys.
Ironically, if you had played any classics already, you probably would have some respect for these titles which, frankly, play perfectly great in 480i, 480p, 720p, etc. Keep telling yourself how much BC games suck, because, clearly, no gaming generation could have been fun before 4K Angry Birds, with multitouch input. Tell us all about it, B...
I'm gonna buy a XBSX, and all the crossplat games on it.
I will buy a PS5 for the exclusives, but nothing else.
That's it. That's the whole truth and nothing but. There's no good reason to buy crossplat games on a lesser console. Still, I need my God of War, just like I need my Mario. Just not so much that I will pad Sony's pockets by playing crossplats on their console vs a blatantly superior one.
The opposite w...
You just sang the SDF fight song. They'll be along any moment to defend these gems.
I truly hope you're being sincere.
It's like a dream come true... Only on PlayStation.
Crackdown 1 was a *great* game.
Are we really taking the word of a guy who works on one console, and not the other, and also blows his own horn right after the fanboy drivel?
I actually like this better than the DS4. That said, I loved the DS3, and don't really like the DS4 much.
"Porters" ARE developers, but the guy who said this was almost certainly a businessman, who is NOT a developer, per se. Businessmen love to talk big, and out of the wrong end, because they know no one will care later on -- they just want the PR today.
Sure, yeah... because those consoles, in having the CPU muscle of a real PC, will probably have games that will easily be ported to the Switch's sweet, downclocked mobile processor.
Seriously -- GPU output is easy to tune. CPU isn't. They aren't gonna have much success doing direct ports.
Yup. And PS+ will look like a greedy dig at your wallet, in comparison.
