It doesn't look $40 better. It's a littl bit sharper with a better frame rate. $14.99-19.99 should be the range they charge... Just to cover the cost of a port more or less.
If only you could just play old PS3 games with ps4... For free. That capability everybody wanted til xb1 did it and then everybody said it wasn't necessary. Remasters for the most part are a scam and an easy solution for studios to make money imo. They are way cheaper to make than a full game, they can charge money for it (again) and give the same old game more revenue by doing very little and they know suckers will keep buying them just so they can have it on the new console that can'...
Doesn't really look that much different to me. It's clear the ps4 resolution is bumped up a bit but I would have much rather seen new high Rez textures, higher Rez models and new particle effects. This looks like they just ported the PS3 version over and let it run in 1080p. Disappointing. This is one of those times when backwards compatibility would have been just fine rather than paying more money for literally the same thing at a bit higher resolution. I think this showcases how a...
since a game runs in realtime, in a non- rails fashion, and there are literally millions of variables - especially when running in a live, real world environment (users attached to consoles each with different configurations and software & system versions attached to various brands and speeds of routers, attached ISPs, network traffic, background processes etc). its impossible to optimize for every possible situation. its impossible to cover every single aspect even before a game launche...
Boooooooo
They forgot to talk about the fact that streaming games also requires a stellar broadband connection and even with that the quality is still slightly diminished, as well as more lag. I don't really care about backwards compatibility honestly but I think if you do need it, do it right and run it locally for free. Don't charge for less quality - even if it's a marginal quality difference.
"EA Sports did say they would be providing free content updates post-launch, but this is a very similar situation to what we saw with NHL 15 last year, which also had a slew of features missing at launch."
I didn't get the same takeaway message from that sentence that you apparently did
@amTyler... its not half as powerful. if that were true, the xb1's gpu would only be at 0.9x TFLOPs. In reality it runs about 1.4x TFLOPs with the Kinect reserve deactivated (360 gpu does 240 GFLOPS and the Wii U does .3 TFLOPs for comparison).
think about this too.. if it were half as powerful it wouldn't even be able to run 900p at the graphic fidelity it does. 1080p = 1920x1080. 900p = 1600x900. thats not a huge difference in rez and on top of that the xb1 stil...
i've been using the apple service and imo its better than spotify. better sound quality, better algorithms, bigger library (at least for the kind of music i listen to) and also... its a proven fact that the apple user demographic is willing to spend money on products and apple itself is considered a "premium" brand. they offer their radio service for free which is fine but someone like me doesn't mind paying $10 for a superior experience. thats what i was doing with spoti...
The names were changed for consistency with win10. Also Pandora and free version of spotify have horrible sound quality. I use spotify too but I upgraded to premium. The added features and way improved audio quality is worth it to me. I have also been trying out Apple's new music sub service and so far it seems even better than spotify with way more radio options than both spotify and Pandora (live broadcast stations, curated stations and more genre breakdowns/ better algorithm for stati...
interestingly enough, if you go on the xbl store and look at the forza 6 bundle (ultimate i believe its called - the $99 one) it implies that the extra car packs that you get for forza 6 will also work in forza horizon 2. i'm not sure if i just misread or misinterpreted, but if thats the case, thats really freaking cool.
I love FH2 btw. I usually prefer as much sim as possible, but that game is just a blast to play and though the physics are a bit more forgiving than f...
you have to look at it like this. pc will always win the power war. its just fact. they are too modular for locked down consoles to even compete. consoles will always win with price and convenience. if having the best graphics possible is a must then one should go with a pc, it will always be the most powerful. this isn't to say consoles can't make amazing graphics, but remember that the amazing uncharted 4 game would look even better with twice the power if it ever made it pc side ...
in straight up possible capability, the pc will always grow faster than a console. a console comes out maybe 1x every 5 to 7 years and with that the xb1 and ps4 are considered "mid range" (for now) pc power.
PCs have new graphics cards coming out almost constantly from competing manufacturers- each better than the last. RAM is cheap and easily obtained and swapped out. faster hard drives are cheap and readily available.
i mean sure the ps4 is mor...
while i don't think consoles have to worry about pc, i think you kind of missed the point of the article. basically - certain techniques, effects, etc will become fragmented. 3rd parties and different developers will evolve and compete in the pc space while consoles are locked to their own respective manufacturers spec. this means there might be better and different ways to do things on pc while consoles will have to do things the way they have always done. also - consider 3rd party eff...
it illuminates my room too in the dark and my living room is an open loft. i also have a 65" tv. i hate that f'ing light bar on the back of the ds4 and they really need to have an option to turn it off... furthermore, it reflects back into the glass of my tv. very distracting - especially once you lock eyes with the reflection, you can't not look at it. i'm considering taping the back of the controller.
yeah definitely. i wish i could have landed one of those.
I do agree that store exclusives are bad news and even unfair - but people will still buy them. Just like people would spend $1200 for a ps4 on eBay when they weren't available anywhere else.
normally i feel ps+ is a bit better for "free" games. on occasion, gwg wins the month. this is one of those gwg months, imo.
same.
Because why should you have to repay for games you already own? The latest remasters are barely even remastered at that. The new GOW remaster footage shows its clearly just a port running at a higher res. That's not a remaster, that's just rendering more pixels of the same game. Beyond that you'd have to hope that studios remaster the games you still want to play and then wait for them to actually be made... Or... Put in the disc you already own.
