I hope Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all do well. The more money they make this gen, hopefully the better the consoles will be next gen.

That's a shame if this is true. Won't be buying this on any platform now if it is. I understand that the Wii U isn't selling well and it makes perfect sense to be fiscally concerned, but I would respect a dev more for not releasing the game at all then fake like they are supporting a console and release games with feature missing.

I don't think they have picked up mightily, but thanks for actually reading the article. It has seen a very small increase with the release of Pikmin 3 in Japan. There is also at least 1 great looking game coming out every month for the rest of this year, and Smash and kart next year. Well nothing has changed. Nobody is going to buy a cheaper Wii U that still has no games. I personally don't understand why anyone is interested in the topic of Wii U sales until the titles mention at E3 start to come out. Anyone could tell that the sales are going to continue to be bad at least until the bigger games come out. Not even saying they are going to be stellar, but you can be sure it is going to sell more than 160,000 over 3 months when smash and kart are out.
How do they disappoint? I mean there have been like no big hitters released from the last time sales were reported. I expected sales to continually be this bad until the games are coming. Not saying they will be on top then or even close for that matter, but it makes no sense to make articles about Wii U's poor sales when the things that Nintendo has in action to try and help the issue aren't coming til later this year and next year.
