Everyone has a mic on XBL.... ha ha?
Sure... I suppose they *have* the one that came with the 360 live kit. The one with the 3 foot cord? Oh yeah, That one is a winner.
Why do people always assume that *that* mic is a workable solution for most people? It's junk.
What a ridiculous article. Its largely a collection of fanboy rumors. The "no cheaters" comment especially makes me LoL. Its as if this person has never played a ...
I definitely have gotten my money's worth, and I have... 11 months to go (I got 15 months, with the 3-month bonus).
It was a deal for me already, and I will almost certainly renew.
Lots of assumptions going about, with regards to how many units Kinect will sell. People are taking the maximum production limit of the factory, and the fact that Kinect is sold out at a few retailers, and assuming that this means that Kinect has already sold the maximum factory output.
Maybe the retailers never ordered anywhere near the maximum factory output, and their low supply is the reason they're sold out. The retailers in the article... they don't seem too e...
If Kinect is the hot, core gaming newness... I guess I'm no longer a core gamer, because it doesn't appeal to me. Oh well. Labels... whatever.
Buttons ftw.
Landit Bandit discount!
Sweet, I hear that game is awesome.
Get MAG.
3D on 360? That'll be interesting to see.
So... you haven't played Last Rebellion then?
I don't wish for a feature that would price the PSP 2 beyond a reasonable range, nor do I think its realistic.
It'll be 960x540, tops. Even at that resolution, AA is basically no longer needed. Why bother with going higher, on a small handheld gaming device? Just raises the price, and effectively lowers the pixel performance of the GPU, by increasing the real estate it has to work over.
Gaming handhelds are made for *gaming*. Good framerates, fanc...
The software sales show a much clearer picture. Sony had something like 113 million in their report... MS had like 102 million.
Either there were a lot more titles released on the PS3 during that time, or the number of actual in-use PS3s exceeds the number of in-use 360s these days -- maybe a little bit of both. In the end, its the software sales that matter. HW is not profitable... unless you are Nintendo.
Gears 3, what?
Best Splinter Cell ever, for sure. It almost looks like a 360 game -- its that good looking, and puts the Wii to shame, since it was on the original XBox, and the Wii has never come close.
MGS is a better series, though, IMO.
Johnny thinks MS can sit on the ball, and let the clock run down.
Sorry bud... next gen just isn't that close. It would take a $999.99 console to make the difference worthy of a purchase, and $999.99 is too much. There's a good quarter (or half) left to play.
They can guess, and they may have rough numbers from their consumers. They can't rattle those numbers off in a report to the stockholders, though, because they aren't their numbers, and although they indirectly affect the business, they don't belong in *their* earnings report.
They can, however, post that number to a PR blog ("42M").
To reiterate what most people seem confused about...
Sony has indeed "sold" 41.6M PS3s, as of their quarterly report... to retailers, who are their consumer.
They don't use the confusing "internet definition" of hardware "sold", which can mean either "sold to retail" or "sold to consumers". They ALWAYS mean "sold to retail", because they DO NOT KNOW the exact number sold to consumers, by their ...
People get so confused over this, very simple IMO, shipped/sold thing.
(A) The following are the same thing:
"# Shipped" == Sold by Manufacturer to Retailer== "sell-in"
(B) The following are the same thing:
"# Sold" == Sold by Retail to consumers == "sell-through"
The latter is confusing, because hardware is sold *twice* -- once to retail, and then again to consumers.
MS...
How about they just fix the software problem, instead?
Gee. VGChartz says 44M sold -- at least they are always going on about how their PS3 numbers are "sold, not shipped". I assume the same would be true for 360 numbers...
They're wrong again, as usual. By 2 million, even.
SotC is on top, not because its necessarily #1 on many people's individual lists, but rather because its in the top 3 of practically everyone's list.
It was a deep, powerful experience that resonated with everyone who played it. Some people get that out of MGS, some out of GTA:SA, some out of SOCOM, etc... but in the end, SotC did that with everyone, and that's what makes it the "best".
If you haven't played it, in many ways I envy ...

Hmm.
