I'm sure you think RE "created" survival horror in 1996, as well, and have no clue who or what "Shodan" is (1994), or what relevance H.P. Lovecraft (1992) has to the genre either.
Dead Space 1 & 2 are better than any RE game ever made, including RE4 Wii, which I regarded as the pinnacle of survival horror on consoles, until DS.
I don't think copying DS is the right thing to do though. In a sense they already tried that RE5 and RE4 (I wouldn't call Dead Space a copy of RE4, because its more of a copy of System Shock and BioShock).
They need to return to their RE1/2/3 roots instead. I don't personally think RE1/2/3 are ...
Wow. MS won't get far with the whole "360 exclusive or bust" policy for indie devs.
I agree. I'm hoping that other reviews won't agree on this issue, that its some sort of mistake, or just a bad screen on the particular phone engadget used, because I wanted this phone bad.
Seems great otherwise.
It's not a PSP. It's a phone that plays PS1 games, and has game controls that slide out.
As one of the only non-Google gingerbread phones out there, I wouldn't be surprised if it did well on that basis alone.
Wow, I'm really surprised at the screen dimness they experienced. Almost makes me wonder if they had a defective model for review, since no one else has ever mentioned it to my knowledge, and it should have been pretty obvious, given their commentary.
I'm going to have to hold off and see if this is a consensus or not. Outside of that issue, it seems like a pretty good phone, for the price.
This is a thread about "consoles" not being able to support more than 24 players bud.
Maybe you read the title?
"the devs constantly have to sacrifice just to get their game to run on the current gen consoles"
MAG is full 720p with MLAA (they added it in a patch), bro. Resolution isn't the issue. The CPU horses required to animate all those guys, and in BF3's case, do all the physics, is.
I think they're just stating "we devote so many resources to making stuff look hot, that 24 players is our limit", rather than "more than 24 isn't possible on consoles", because obviously it is.
The real issue is -- is looking hot going to make for more fun than MAG? This may hurt some fanboy feelings, but MAG is still the best multiplayer FPS this gen, when it comes to fun. I seriously doubt BF3 can beat it. Honestly I doubt anyone who says oth...
I agree. Battlefield should change its name to "Battlepen" or "Battlebox" to better represent the game environment.
All shooters have a tactical nature inherently.
Basically the ones with the strongest emphasis on tactics are called "Tactical Shooters", and the ones with lesser emphasis on tactics are not.
By those guidelines, CoD is not a tactical shooter. Games like SOCOM, R6V, GRAW, Operation Flashpoint -- those are tactical shooters. CoD has tactics, but the emphasis is lesser than in the other games I mentioned. It fits into more of a "cinematic"...
Butts are slapped in this game?
And I thought the mass murder, heads exploding, etc. in all the other shooters was over the top, and even mildly offensive.
Butt slapping! Oh no!
The name scares moms. "Halo" sounds angelic, and hence the 8-12 year-olds get it purchased for them, for almost every occasion. Hence, the differences between Halo and KZ3 players online.
I wish I was joking.
"by the time the ngp is out in every region the 3ds wil be 10 mil ahead "
Nintendo themselves only expect 5 million 3DS sold all year, and you think they'll sell 10 million before the 2011 holidays?
Are you going to build these extra 5 million in your garage?
"and with a million sold in japan and 1.2 million preorders elsewhere they will crush 4 million shipped by EO March"
You realize that shipped num...
There are respawn and classic non-respawn games in the beta. It's hard to tell the difference on the multiplayer mode screen, unless you look at the description of the game type, though.
If the game type description says "classic", its one-life-per-round. If it doesn't say classic, it has respawn.
Terrible article. Microsoft claimed 10 million "sold to retailers"... i.e. shipped. Sony claimed 4+ million shipped back before the holiday season was even over -- it's probably close to 8-9M now. If you looked at 360 total numbers from November, and compared them to PS3 numbers from February, the PS3 would have "beaten the 360 worldwide", too
Article is full of spin, or outright BS. GameStop said they were having trouble keeping Move in stock. Th...
GRAW 2's graphics were "okay" for 2007, its "automatic" cover system sucked (although I recall it only being in SP), and the controls were horribly clunky? Man... that's an understatement, with the controls, too. A HUGE understatement.
Oh, and the MP maps were poorly made.
I played GRAW 2 a bit... if I hadn't already sold it years ago, I certainly would now.
SOCOM 4 looks great and plays great, and I'm co...
@KingMe:
I bought Kinect for my kids, initially. We have more fun with it, by using it as a cheap PC depthcam, so we don't use it with the 360 any longer.
As far as interesting Move games, lets see... LBP2, Sly collection, KZ3, and SOCOM 4 beta I'm playing at the moment, along with the occasional MAG session. I have MLB11 on the way, and I hear it supports it. The main issue I have with Kinect is that it isn't used in anything *but* Kinect-requ...
The only titles selling better are the bundled game (Kinect Adventures) and Kinect Sports (which seems like a no-brainer purchase with Kinect itself, like Wii Play was for the Wii).
The rest of the titles have half the sales of Dance Central, at best. Dance Central is at about 1.8M so far, which I think qualifies as a decent run. The rest of them... not so much.
I got an eye headache from a pal's 3DS within just a few minutes today. It was minor, but it lasted a couple hours. Pretty sure it was just "unused eye muscle" kinda strain, as opposed to a real headache... but then I kinda had trouble focusing on my work monitor for the couple hours it was going on.
I think with "practice" you could make the eye strain go away -- its just the same as the strain you feel on weak muscles after a workout, except its yo...
