When the Kinect support in this game is evaluated by the gaming media... well that'll be mighty entertaining to read.
Awesome trailer, because it tells me exactly what I want to hear: Saints Row 3 is exactly what I expect... a funny take on open world gameplay, basically a parody of GTA, and its not going to change.
This game is actually supposed to be decent, despite the rudimentary graphics.
In Japan, 360 controllers are cheap, because they're always on closeout. ;)
Also, you can get drivers for them, for Windows.
No, those numbers are total sales, as of not too long ago.
I just finished the 3 Namco-Bandai ones in the last year (they were awesome), and I didn't notice any translation issues or glitches.
I played the NA version though. Maybe you mean the European version?
I think of them as "re-appreciations"
And hey, a few of them I honestly didn't play. I'm more than happy to add some trophies to my collection, while appreciating these updated classics.
Look at the disagrees this guy got. 3DS fans are apparently upset at how close the specs of the 3DS are to the PSP? Nintendo did that on purpose, folks, so they could leverage current in-development titles and teams (working on PSP titles) to make 3DS games ASAP.
3rd party publishers like to make money. They see two similar platforms, they make crossplats. No amount of disagrees can change that, and there is *nothing* wrong with Nintendo making a smart,3rd-party-friendly ...
Sure they should. Imagine the uninformed gamer purchasing a XBox or GameCube in 2003 or 2004, when the PS2 clearly was the dominant console.
This generation it's not so important.. or is it? That's just the thing: how would you know that you aren't getting screwed by buying console X, Y, or Z again, if you didn't *know* they were basically balanced, in terms of marketshare, and thus, publisher attention? People are safe buying the console their friends pla...
Amongst the changes: 20% increase in field-of-view, in MP.
...that's all I really wanted. Fixed before the game even comes out, thanks to beta feedback. Pretty good support, I have to say.
In the end, all that matters is revenue, and of course from that, profit.
Console hardware sales yield basically no profit (unless you are Nintendo). Accessory sales yield profit (HDDs, motion controllers, cameras, gamepads, headsets, etc.). Games yield profit.
The recently revealed fact that there are more active PS3s WW than 360s illustrates the issue that MS has actually sold 3 million more HW units (at little or no profit), but has 0.5 million *fewer* ac...
Individual software product attach rates are actually higher on the PS3, for most titles. The only reason the 360 has a greater lifetime attach rate is that it's been out a year longer.
Sales is really unimportant, compared to active units -- except in Nintendo's case, because they have always manufactured hardware for a serious profit.
To this day, the PS2 has nearly 150M sales. The question is, how many people are actively using their PS2s, and buying software for them? How many have been sent off for electronics recycling (I wish they didn't end up in a dumpster, but you know some people are too ignorant to recycle computers, and all the poisono...
Yup. Active units is all that matters.
If MS had to build/sell 5 million more 360s, possibly at a loss, to get the same installed base... that's not something to be proud of.
PS3 "wins" 2nd place. Now the fanboy wars can end, right?
Okay.. yeah... we all know they won't.
Netflix is awesome on the Wii, as is the occasional Nintendo 1st party game.
The really interesting thing here, is that almost everyone who posted in this article said near exactly the same thing that I just did.
I'm just mentioning a trend with info that is conveniently not present in most of this discussion, bud. You're stating the obvious with info that's presented in the article above.
Your entire post was a waste of everyone's time. Mine actually contained additional, useful info, which sales-minded individuals might appreciate.
Name for us, one game publisher which does business solely in the US, and then maybe your math will be relevant. The ...
Consider the differences between the PS1 and the PS2. And then consider the PS2 and the PS3.
Imagine the leap it would take to convince buyers to purchase a console to replace their PS3 or 360, and then think about (a) how much such a system would cost, and (b) how it needs to be small, (and preferably quiet, and reliable), since its in the livingroom.
If a next-gen XBox 720 doesn't have most, if not all, games in glorious 1080p (or nearso), and cost und...
I'm lookin' forward to that one.
Clan and party support are supposedly not even finished in the SOCOM 4 beta. Personally, I'll wait for the finished product, before judging features which have even been completely unveiled. Never judge a game by its demo or beta, before release.
Beyond that, I agree with many of the points raised.
