Ha! Bathyj has never been a "true gamer". He has always been one of the bigger PS3 fanboys on this site. He, like many of you, wouldn't know how to be impartial and fair if his life depended on it.
I love games no matter what console they are on. Alan Wake looks great to me and I am not going to hate on it or be swayed to pass on it simply because it isn't on my favorite console. Fanboys are the worst aspect of gaming as a hobby.
My GOTY so far would be between Mass Effect 2 and God of War 3. Alan Wake might be up there too, but I won't know one way or another until I play it.
I do think it has just as good a chance as any other upcoming game this year that I know about.
Well, I still think it looks great. I agree not as good as some of the better PS3 exclusives like Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 and God of War 3, but still very nice to look at. Plus the whole atmosphere and gameplay seem fun and kind of fresh.
All I know is that it is one of the most visually impressive games I have ever laid eyes on. The concept seems interesting as well.
Yeah, Microsoft should consider buying them. They are obviously very talented and could be a great asset for Microsoft. I can't wait to get my hands on Alan Wake.
Why do people care which game is slightly better than the other one? They all look so good that it doesn't even matter. Alan Wake looks very, very good from everything I have seen of the game.
He's right, more space just allows for storing more content, it doesn't have much to do with the graphical quality. It doesn't matter how much space you have for quality textures because it really comes down to the limits of the memory and the size of texture that can fit into said memory. Memory, GPU and CPU capabilities are really what decide how good a game can look. Memory is usually where textures are limited at, not at the storage level.
Having actually played the beta I can tell you that Halo Reach is very nice looking game. It looks better than most shooters and that is all I could have asked for.
Halo Reach looks far better.
I agree with you there. I think God of War 3 took me around 10 hours to complete, but it was a very high quality experience so it was well worth it. Alan Wake also seems to be a high quality game so I don't see the difference.
No, because those people are just trolls. AhmadVGArabia runs a game site and has actually played the game. Those trolls haven't even played the game therefor they aren't entitled to any opinion about it. I agree with Arnon, the trolls damaging this site need to be dealt with.
I agree completely. Uncharted is one of my favorite games and it only scored in the 8s overall on metacritic. Who cares. Lot's of PS3 fans don't have a problem listing Uncharted and other similarly scoring games as amazing games, so why can't Alan Wake be an amazing game as well?
Not to mention Alan Wake has had lots of reviewers give it 9 or better. Should we just ignore those reviews and act like only the lower scores matter? It's all a matter of opinio...
Infamous was awesome. I am so glad that they are making a sequel.
Yes they are. Halo and Halo 2 were widely considered to be some of the best looking games of last generation. And Halo Reach is shaping up to be one of the best looking shooters on any platform.
I'm sorry, but you are wrong. Go back and read reviews of Halo and Halo 2. They were known for being some of the best looking games of the generation on any console.
Even graphically I don't think it sets any benchmarks either. I mean, I love God of War 3, but I still think that Uncharted 2 is more technically and graphically impressive.
Lou-Cipher, please go crawl back under that rock you crawled out from under. You don't have a clue. If you think millions of people play Halo after all this time because of "marketing" or anything like that then you are a clueless moron.
Personally, I also loved the Halo 3 campaign. It is one of my favorite campaigns among all shooters I have played. I love it. And getting to play through it with co-op gives it even more replay value.
Also, you are com...
The detail of the jacket and its movement are impressive. It's nice to see how much work Remedy have put into Alan Wake.
If you think Alan Wake is a Silent Hill ripoff you are an ignorant moron and don't deserve to play games.
Alan Wake looks like one of the freshest experiences to come along for some time.
Ghoul, great post. I wish there were more gamers like you around here. Alan Wake has definitely piqued my interest. Well actually more than that; I am very much looking forward to playing it. And yes, I will buy it. I think a good single player game should be rewarded with a purchase. Not every game needs to have multiplayer.
