I fear it will cause a collapse because we start to buy less as we choose to play our backlog, and only buy when 75% off.
It's got to the point where I don't even buy at 75% on a sequel if I haven't beatin the first one.
Only a few new purchases for me going forward.

I hope your right as I like the motion settings on new tvs but especially the way it makes games look.
However, LAG goes way up and I have to turn motion off and put back on gamer mode.
So far all tvs are like this, so,if Sony has fixed this issue then that will be nice, maybe that tech will move to their tvs too.
After reviewing, the advice will be: the Rift is better but not by enough to warrant the full pc price.
If you have a ps4 then morpheus is good enough for the price.
If you have a capable pc and don't plan on a ps4, go Rift.
If you have both then it's up to you and your budget with the warning that VR can be good but is gimmicky and not enough robust games in the first year.

I'm hoping for a Sony $599 announcement and then .1 sec later say including a ps4, camera, controllers, and games.
Then go to the next slide listing without ps4 as $300.
Calmly place mic in stand,(audience screams) then with a gentle touch tip the stand over....crowd blows up!
I have a GearVR too and it does get you to understand what we are dealing with. I find it a good amusement park event, but even if I imagine that the Rift will be 6x better, it doesn't come close to matching $600. Plus I'm lucky to have a cpu to run it.
I grew up with atari and now game at 4kpc, so I know the difference of 6x better.
The biggest problem is the lack of quality games.
We talk each gen about the lack of games...this hardware release will be known as the debacle of no content at release, and for the first year.
I remember them being $5000 and then you found out the next year it was the 720p kind of HD. Hahahahah

Leaning towards this cause I need a new wireless xbox controller anyway. The wired one has a loose micro USB port.
Plus I have an original titan/2500k and figure at least I could run it. I have a GearVR so I know generally that it's pretty gimmicky but there is potential.
I could buy a ps4 and morpheus but that would prob actually be more expensive. Or I could go skylake with that money as well since I game at 4k with reduced useless settings.

Normally I'd wait until it's on $20 Steam sale BUT I will buy the $300 version that is specific to my situation. My favorite games are tr and drakes. I have to buy a ps4 and uncharted remaster before I will allow myself to play the next tr.

I'm not sure how much MSONY consult devs but it seems they should base it off of release cycles and next project cycles. Example gta5 worked great to release at the end and then re release. Another Skyrim prob needs to released before the next gen.
So if we get 1 more major Rockstar release in the fall 2016, I think the following game for 2018 should be cross gen. Thus fall 2018 a new console that actually is fully backwards compatible and gives a bump in gfx to X1/ps4 ga...

Oblivion is the clear stand out game for me in 2006, the xbox 360 really was THE place to experience that next gen open world game far cheaper than pc and not available on ps3 for another year.
You have to remember console owners hadn't played pc the elder scrolls in large numbers, maybe it was on og xbox? But that kind of open world game with lush environments was unreal for the time.
Exploring in awe was great memory I remember from 10 years ago.

Sounds like what I used to enjoy playing with the old kinect. This serves as a reminder of how motion games were left for dead after we paid money for those devices.
