These graphics will never reach this quality on Wii.
If you don't want to believe the specs, then believe the games. Chronicles of Riddick, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Halo 2, etc...

When price is an issue, the 360 is much cheaper. For $199 plus $60 for a game, you can own a current console. It's the entry point that matters.

You're the first one to have read the article. Media Molecule is asking for trouble by using a common legal term in his game. The definition of "copyright" is well known. All it takes is one guy to misunderstand the term and you have a class action lawsuit.
Bad reviews are common. It is rare to find a true professional reviewer that takes his job seriously. They often don't play the game long enough to make valid judgments. Often, you will see that reviewers say the same thing as if all the information comes from a single source (like the mainstream media repeats the New York Times).

The auto industry has its ups and downs. The 80s saw American cars turn to garbage and then they woke up and made American cars better. I don't believe in buying garbage. If Japan makes the best cars, then buy those. Healthy competition is good.
