God of War: Ascension > Bioshock Infinite > Tomb Raider.
I'm actually excited for all of them, will definitely buy all three games.
Well done you pretentious philistine. You clearly have no taste. Don't you realise you only played 20 mins out of a 10 hour campaign? How do you know you won't love the full & finished game? Oh well, you don't deserve to play what will be one of the best games of all time anyway. :)
Just wait until you see what happens after the demo ends... It will not only be more epic than the most epic moments in GoW3 but it will be one of the, if not the most epic moments in videogames history.
There's a little teaser of what's to come if you look at the last 6 seconds of the 30 min demo IGN uploaded on Youtube, check it out.
Edit: Here's the link to the video http://...
I really liked the first 2 Gears games. Gears 3 disappointed me more than anything this generation and Gears J just looks horrible to me. It's amazing how one of my favourite franchises has become so unappealing to me now.
God of War: Ascension has changed A LOT. The combat and platforming has been overhauled, the art-style and sound is drastically different, it's got a much more in-depth story and varied locations and there's a genre-defining new MP component which I consider a significant change.
I can't think of a single AAA game that has changed as much as God of War: Ascension has from its predecessor.
God of War DOESN'T have a fixed camera, it has an automated camera. There's a big difference. The Resident Evil games on PS1 had fixed camera angles, in God of War they're completely dynamic and make for a much more enjoyable and cinematic experience thanks to not having the burden of constantly adjusting the camera view.
God of War: Ascension will be much better than Gears of War: Judgment. I loved Gears 1 & 2 but 3 sucked and Gears: J looks worse in every wa...
@pandaboy Halo and Gears are the only big sellers for Microsoft which is why they rely so heavily on them with the odd Forza/Fable in-between.
Sony doesn't do the same thing, they have God of War which is bigger than Uncharted so I'm not sure why you ignored it, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet which is pretty big and Ratchet & Clank and Resistance have strong fan-bases. Then there's the odd game like Heavenly Sword, Heavy Rain, The Last of Us, Beyond ...
LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, inFAMOUS 2 and Heavenly Sword are not flops. The reason all those sequels under performed compared to their predecessors is because they weren't bundled nearly as much.
Alan Wake wasn't a flop. It sold 1.5m+ on Xbox 360 and was very successful on PC.
Everything else flopped.
You're basing your numbers of Vgchartz? They are known to be extremely inaccurate, I mean they had God of War 3 a...
Exactly, Uncharted is almost as big as Gears of War and Gran Turismo is almost as big as Halo. Of course both UC & GT are heavily bundled series whereas Halo & Gears aren't but they're still comparable to M$'s biggest.
Then Sony has the massive God of War franchise which is bigger than every M$ franchise but Halo, I think people forget that God of War III went on to sell 6 million units with no bundling and awful advertising, it's also in an unpopular gen...
Michael Clarke Duncan (RIP) in God of War 2 as Atlas was just perfection.
It has been confirmed that Sony Santa Monica is working on a new AAA IP for the PS4 which is being led by the director of God of War III, Stig Asmussen.
That's all I care about seeing, few developer put equal effort into making sure the story, gameplay and graphics are all as amazing as possible. And also Sony Santa Monica refuse to make generic games with realistic weapons and settings which is a rarity nowadays so I'll always support whatever they make.
I agree. The Uncharted series already feels tired, UC3 was just a rehash of UC2 except not nearly as good and UC:GA was mediocre. There's no overarching story among the UC games, it's just the same self-contained stories about a thief called Nathan Drake searching for a magical treasure before the bad guy gets it to do bad things... meh. It's starting to become really boring and the gameplay hasn't evolved at all, also all the set-pieces are just becoming repetitive which mean...
I've played the demo (6 times), it's awesome and that's all you need to know. If I was you I wouldn't play the demo so I could play the game fresh on the 12th March.
What an idiot. It's a successor to a game in a massively acclaimed and popular hack 'n slash franchise, what the hell dd you expect? A FPS? Every sequel/prequel EVER has been similar to its predecessor. God of War: Ascension has changed a TON since God of War III but of course you wouldn't know that because you haven't played the game and most likely don't even own a PS3, so shut up.
@ My_Name_BTW_Is_Dantes
Shut up, you obviously have piss poor taste.
@zipw0ker
Shut up, you obviously don't understand the fucking point of God of War, it's not meant to be purely focused on pulling off complex combos, unlike every other franchise in the genre GoW focuses on story, platforming, combat, puzzles and has amazing visuals and sound. Some other games have good gameplay but fail everywhere else.
And by th...
He's also playing Orkos in God of War: Ascension. He's brilliant! http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I hope it's a sequel to Dante's Inferno because I love the genre and the first game is a decent foundation to build upon and improve for the next game. It could be a great game if it is more inspired, ambitious and polished than its predecessor.
@Norrison. Bollocks, God of War III still has some of the best looking environments this generation and God of War: Ascension is a significant improvement upon that. The environments are not low res at all, in fact go watch a 'The Last of Us' gameplay demo full screen at 720p and you'll see that game has low res environments and enemy character models are noticeably low-poly. Not to mention I'm SICK of post-apocalyptic settings in games, looks generic and lacks imagination. Go...
Wow, DmC was very well received by critics but still failed miserably at retail. I know old DMC fans must be ecstatic about this but it's very bad news for the relatively niche genre. Now that Ninja Gaiden is practically dead thanks to NG3 and DmC failed commercially only God of War is keeping the genre relevant.
Hopefully Castlevnia: Lords of Shadow 2 will be amazing. I hope the genre stays strong next generation, only God of War will always be safe due to the series be...
I'm so excited for God of War: Ascension! I've had the GoW:A collector's edition pre-ordered for months now. I'm also buying Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite day 1, they look awesome. I will buy Gears of War: Judgment when it hits a bargain bin price, hopefully it doesn't sell very well (according to Vgchartz it won't although they're far from accurate most of the time) so the price drops fast.
March 2013 is going to be a great month for gamers! ...
