I find it funny how this fake God of War game story has got more heat than even the most popular story for God of War: Ascension.
Proves that people just want a new God of War game to forget about the last one. I wonder if they'll do the right thing and drop multiplayer to make the single player better? As good as the MP is I'd drop it in a heart beat to make the SP better.

I don't want the series to continue unless it's post-God of War III and they drop multiplayer in favour of a more ambitious single player campaign.
Sony Santa Monica are 100% working on a new IP, a dev confirmed so on Twitter. I have a feeling that they haven't actually split into two teams like everyone thinks, so their new IP will probably come out during the holidays 2014 and we won't see God of War IV until at least 2016.
Well if mid-size studios are dying off there's 2 ways to resolve this.
1. Expand. Hire some amazing talent that's out there and make a great AAA game.
2. Become indie developers on less ambitious more experimental projects.
Oh do shut up. Firstly, ALL video games are interactive, that is the point of video games.
Secondly, God of War is one of the most gameplay focused series out there nowadays, GoW3 had 10-12 hours of gameplay vs other cinematic games like UC3 which had about 7-8 hours of gameplay and another 1/2 hours of on rails set-pieces and cinematics.
Thirdly, If God of War is spectacle centered game that isn't worth $60 then so is Uncharted, The Last of Us and pret...
More than all of them I wanted to see what Sony Santa Monica's other team was working on, The Order 1886 is led by Ready At Dawn so that isn't their new IP. I bet it's a Sci-Fi open world action-RPG.

Jaffe deserves recognition for being the mastermind behind 2 genre defining franchises, vehicular combat with Twisted Metal and hack n' slash with God of War which is one of the most acclaimed and popular franchises in gaming.

@SoapShoes Uncharted 3 SHIPPED 3.8 million to retailers day one. It SOLD TO CONSUMERS 1.36 million in it's first week.
The Last of Us won't come close to that and if you expect it to then you have to be deluded. It will sell around 825K first week and 3-4m lifetime. It will not have the holiday launch or mass bundling benefits the Uncharted games have and it's a new IP late in the console cycle. Come on, be realistic.

Ok here we go, I'll split this up into different categories with one gamer per franchise. (games that are exclusive to one console but are available on PC will be listed with exclusives, they are console exclusive after-all).
PS3 Exclusives:

I also think you forgot that a lot of people want a sequel to Heavenly Sword and LittleBigPlanet 3 has to happen.
And all Sony have to do to slow down the Xbox One momentum is come out against used games fee nonsense, online DRM, show a console that isn't hideous, show off more of the consoles features and release it at a cheaper price than the Xbox One. I bet it will be cheaper because M$ are including the new Kinect with...

Anyway this entire 'consoles are holding back the PC' talk is nonsense. Look at what happened when developers did build their games exclusively for PC and pushed graphics hard, a.k.a. Crysis & The Witcher 2, they were pirated much more than they sold legitimately and then moved to consoles where piracy is much less of a problem to make more money...
Why does everyone always forget about Gran Turismo? Sony's flagship series.
I mean, God of War III & UC2/3 are 6 million sellers, LBP is a 5 million seller and TLoU could be a 4-5m seller which makes them all hugely popular games/series, however how can one forget Gran Turismo when GT5 has sold almost 11 million copies? I mean GT5 Prologue sold over 5 million copies and that was just a bloody glorified demo! Are you telling me that GT isn't considered their flagsh...
