The PS2 sold over 150 million, obviously something did go wrong although 70 million is still decent. I blame the poor launch line up, stupidly high price and the Xbox brands rise to relevance which cut heavily into the PS3's market-share since they both target the same demographic.

They should release a multiplayer beta for Tomb Raider. A lot of people were against multiplayer in God of War: Ascension initially but after all the coverage and the awesome beta the vast majority love it now.
Yeah I've always preferred Halo's multiplayer to COD, and it's true that there's no multiplayer games on PS3 that are as good for now... but I think God of War: Ascension is going to be better for me, I put more time into the beta than I have any multiplayer game since 2011 and it's going to be even better by launch, plus I love hack 'n slash games and this is the first one to ever have an awesome multiplayer component. Still, Halo 4 is my go to FPS to play online FPS....
Bayonetta 2 - Will probably flop.
Dead Space 3 - Will do well, won't help the franchise grow though.
Gears of War: Judgement - Will flop compared to past games but will still sell well.

Well you have to consider the fact that the Uncharted series wouldn't be nearly as big as it is if it weren't for every game being mass bundled (especially UC3) and always having a Q4 launch right in time for the xmas sales.

A special edition for a game nobody cares for? I loved Gears of War 1 & 2, 3 is the most disappointing game ever for me and Judgment just looks rubbish. There's no hype for GeoW:J at all and the pre-orders in the US have been absolutely horrendous, get the hint epic, either take better care of the franchise or leave it alone and move on.
Well KZ3 has been tracking almost identically to KZ2, no significant decline there. LBP 2 only sold far less than the first game because it wasn't mass bundled at all unlike the first LBP which is up there with Resistance 1, Motorstorm, GT5 and the Uncharted series in terms of mass bundling.
I don't care if DmC isn't selling as well as DMC4, it's a far better game and that's all that matters.
If that's the case then how much do you think the demo being exclusive to God of War: Ascension for at least a few weeks is going to help sales for GoW:A? I reckon it could add around 100K+ sales for people on the fence, not that it needed this demo to be huge as GoW always has been.

God of War: Ascension.
You can't buy 2 games within 2 months... Trade some shit in a buy them both! You know if you wait a few weeks after both games come out you'll save a fair bit of money.
God of War: Ascension will obviously have a price-cut first since it'll be out sooner so just buy that first, then you have an amazing game and an exclusive demo for what will hopefully be another amazing game which will make the wait more bearable. :)
I'm not interested in The Last of Us either because what I've seen of it hasn't impressed me and I'm not a fan of the Uncharted series.

What Uncharted game cost just $20 million? The first? Maybe. I know the second one cost more than double that and the 3rd was A LOT more than the second. Almost $8,000,000 of UC3's budget was spent on marketing in the UK alone... Imagine how much marketing worldwide itself cost let alone the cost to develop the game.

lol. God of War III is the best game in the hack 'n slash genre this generation and everyone knows it. It's the most critically acclaimed, award-winning, bestselling and most beloved in the genre by light-years. Nothing else comes close. Only God of War: Ascension can top it.
God of War is the benchmark other games in the genre are measured against, it alone is the reason the genre is still alive and it's inspired more developers than most franchises ever have.
