The Last of Us > GTA V > Tomb Raider > Bioshock Infinite > God of War: Ascension
My top 5 PS3 games of this year, haven't even played 10 games this year but I think it's been a kinda mixed year for games, a few amazing game, a few great but disappointing games and a lot of rubbish.
2010 will always be the best year in gaming history for me, God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Alan Wake, Bioshock 2, ...
When picking best games of the generation I think it's best to choose 1 genre defining game from each genre for variety.
e.g.
Open World - Red Dead Redemption
hack n' slash - God of War III
Action-RPG - Mass Effect 2
RPG - Skyrim
FPS - Bioshock
TPS - The Last of Us
Racing sim - Forza Motorsport 4
Racing arcade - PGR4
Side-scrolling platformer - LittleBigPlanet
3D platformer - Supe...
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be the best hack 'n slash game since God of War III which will be 4 years old by the time C:LoS2 releases, how time flies.
God of War has a very in-depth combat system actually http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Try harder, maybe you should give God of War a chance before talking shit? Just a thought.
Alan Wake
It's true, most people I know have PC's that just barely can play the latest games.
Also I remember reading that a PC needs to be twice as powerful as a console to output similar visuals at a similar performance, only a tiny amount of gaming PC's are that powerful so only a minority of gamings PC's produce games that look comparable to the PS4.
PC games won't start looking better for a couple of years and by then Sony Santa Monica and Na...
Surely a typo? I can't believe DMC4 would be selling better than DmC this year.
God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock, The Last of Us, Uncharted 2... they all instantly come to mind
I always thought the general consensus about GTA IV is that it's one of the most overrated games ever made and that it is a very disappointing game?
Didn't just suddenly happen since GTA V released, maybe more people are now expressing hatred for GTA IV because GTA V released not long ago and is a far superior game.
God of War: Chains of Olympus is the most critically acclaimed PSP game, also sold like 3.5m. Prequels can be good, it's a shame multiplayer crippled God of War: Ascensions single player although it is still a good game.
Great choices and to add some more, God of War III, Gears of War Trilogy, Alan Wake, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Tomb Raider... I could go on, such an amazing generation.
I don't like indie games, they are mostly shit.
They need to take their time with this one, hopefully they'll give up with multiplayer and perfect & evolve the single player formula.
I want to see a new IP from SSM first, GoW IV should release March 2016 or holidays 2016.
SSM or ND new IP.
I reckon this is just SSM having a laugh, although I seriously can't wait for the new IP. Stig Asmussen is a very smart & creative guy and I'm excited to see what his team have been working on for the last 3 1/2 years.
1. God of War 4
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
3. Mass Effect 4
4. The Last of Us 2
5. Alan Wake 2
Then why did they both flop? Those games don't exactly inspire confidence amongst developers and publishers that h&s games can still be successful, do they now?
GoW is keeping the genre alive because devs/pubs look at the critical & commercial success of GoW III, averaging 93% + selling over 6 million units and think 'wow h&s games can still be successful', which is why almost every h&s game nowadays is at least a little inspired by the GoW series....
I really hope Ryse is great, only God of War is keeping the genre alive at the moment. We need another huge hack 'n slash series to inspire confidence within the games industry that games in the h&s genre can still be hugely successful even if it's not a God of War game.
Fable 2 is a great game, highly underrated imo.
Fable 3 sucked so bad though, such a shame they were rushed to release it and Peter Molyneux was allowed to put that awful menu system in the game.
Everyone should play Castlevania: Lords of shadow and Alan Wake.
I wish both sold millions of copies like they deserved to but sadly they didn't, both are bloody amazing games, give them a chance.
