It perplexes me how anyone can look at those screens and come to a different conclusion...
I bet The Order looks better than ND's first PS4 game. Then ND's 2nd game will look better which will shortly be topped by SSM who'll be topped by GG and then RaD will come back on top only to be dethroned by ND again who will be slain by SSM again... I can't wait to see how much better the games will look with time.
Well it took Naughty Dog 4 games to master the PS3. Sony Santa Monica;'s 1st PS3 game looks just as good, if not better than TLoU. Their second game is easily better looking.
I'm sure ND's new game will look amazing but it's SSM that will truly show us what the PS4 is capable of.
Some people are so stupid, the whining and nonsensical 'debates' about resolution & framerate are so futile.
The only good game in that list is Skyrim, couldn't care less for the others.
Word of mouth does always work though if a games good enough with enough mainstream appeal, it's just that the games made by Platinum only appeal to a very small demographic and aren't as accessible to casuals.

Stig and his smallish team has been working on a new IP since 2010 whilst the majority were working on GoW: Ascension. After that game was done the Ascension team were split between Stig, who now has a full team, and Cory who came back to direct GoW IV and is still forming a huge team of his own.
I think Stig's team could make HS2 after there new game but to be honest, his new IP is probably going to be a big hit so Sony would probably green light a sequel for that instea...
Do you really think The Order 1886 needs to score 92.5-97.5% before Sony realise they have a gem that deserves their attention? Anything 90+ will do.
During the PS3's lifetime how many games published by Sony scored in that range? I count only 5: Uncharted 2, The Last of Us, LittleBigPlanet, God of War III and Journey... I think The Order 1886 will be amazing but won't score in that range, have a feeling critics will be harsh.

God of War isn't trying to compete with the DMC or Bayonetta series' combat though, they may as well be different genre. J H&S and W H&S like there's WRPG and JRPS, same genre technically but so different.
GoW is accessible for casuals yet has that depth for the hardcore and it strikes the balance perfectly and is a hell of a lot more fun to play that anything else in the genre, a.k.a why GoW is the most acclaimed and bestselling in the genre by light-year...

Sony is so lucky to have these 3 developers, even though I'm not much of an Uncharted fan I though The Last of Us was just amazing. SSM created an unbelievably great trilogy and single-handedly saved the genre. RaD created 3 amazing PSP games.
They aren't competitors, it's all one big family, hopefully RaD gets adopted by Sony.
But but but, we only have 1 great sci-fi video game franchise which is Mass Effect. I think SSM's new sci-fi RPG could be something really amazing and very different to GoW.
Also I want GoW4 with Egyptian mythology, it's much more interesting and even less well known than Norse.
I'd buy this in a heartbeat if I had the money to spare...

Look at God of War III & Uncharted 1, SSM's first game looked almost a gen ahead of ND's. ND couldn't even match it until UC3/TLoU then Ascension came out and easily looked better than both.
I think Ready at Dawn's The Order 1886 is going to be a real masterpiece and solidify the dev as one of the top in the industry, Sony should try to buy them, SSM & RaD & ND all making top exclusives...

They started development on TLoU late 2009, released it mid 2013.
2 years isn't enough to create another masterpiece, it needs 3+ years to reach the same quality of ND's best work yet, TLoU.
Looking forward to the sequel, hopefully they move on from Uncharted after the next one and have a new IP + TLoU in store for the PS4.

Well it's my favourite game and series of all time actually, love it and can't wait for GoW4 which'll be the best one yet.
They are modeled with 1 million polygons but the displacement maps are converted into normal maps which would drastically reduce the amount of polys whilst looking very similar.
Nothing on PS4 will have a character with 500k polys, let alone 1m. I think 100-150k will be the norm for PS4 exclusives.
