IMO, and purely on my opinion, the man posts sensationalist nonsense purely to inflate his contributor score - IMO, that is worse than any fanboy posting his/her own slanted articles.

Yeah man, the 360 line up for this year look amazing - add that to the PS3 line means that I am gonna be seriously low on funds for the forseeable future.

That is not entirely correct Simon, both 1UP and EGM are a part of the Ziff Davis group and are all set in the same offices and many of the conributors to EGM also contribute to the 1UP website

I personally think you should go wit your own views - if you think the BD and lair are your cup of tea then buy them.

While i can see everyone's point here, IMO, it may be good thing - most parents buy their kids any video game they want, without even looking at the cover (this is purely what I have seen in all the various game stores I have been to recently) so if the ratings is a little larger, then perhaps then there is more chance for said parent to see it.
I agree that is is just plain ididotic for the label to overwhelm everything on the cover, but an increase in size would be adventage...
While I agree totally that a price drop is great for the 360, remember, the Wii is making money per console sold, so ninty could just as easily issue a price drop too.
I think that many are forgetting this fact too - don't think I am a ninty fanboy - I have serious problems with their attitude towards european game releases, but as thier tech is so cheap, they could concieveably drop the price too - and my question is, what kind of impact would that have on the industry?

You know, I agree, this holiday season will have amoungst the best line-ups for both the PS3 and the 360.

It still doens't fully explain the price difference - there is VAT to consider and some import taxes, but I am certain that it doesn't fully all even out.

I would think it is entirely possible for that to occur - much like MS holds the Ip rights to the first 2 Gears of war games, but they do not hold ip rights over the Gears universe, so theoretically, epic could develop a gears like game set in the same universe, but without marcus.
i personaly think it will happen, but it will be a timed exclusive - much in the same was as metal gear solid 3: substinence - a special edition of sorts.

As bladestar above says, obviously they will release hardware upgrades over the life of a product, but how long has it been out in the US?
While I do see the need for regular updates, I don't feel the need for apple's less than 1 a year attitude (even though I do own a 80 gig video ipod) to releasing subtly chaged product. I will only buy another iPod when I see a significant increase in the features on them. I personally hope MS does the same sort of thing.
I honestly don't mind the fanboy stuff in the comments section, hell it is the main reason why I constantly come back to the same articles over and over - I love a great debate.
But my main problem with this site and I honestly feel it is a detriment to the intergrity of this site is the propaganda spread by certain fanboys.
