Yep. It's scary knowing that you can't even place full trust in some youtubers now. Even big name channels like TheRadBrad have been exposed as shills.
The only way to make a sound decision is to do the research yourself and think about which platform offers you more.
It all depends on how Ubisoft wants it done. Because MS doesn't have the same pull on US devs like they did with the 360, they can make PS4 the better version if they wanted to.

I feel that no matter what form this game ships in, many people and reviewers have already decided that they're already going to like it.

It's a good game, but I don't see it's impact. It feels more like a puzzle-story than a game, and it has a lot of cliche elements to titles like this.
Still, more games is always a good thing.
