"Lol ever heard of a Generator, or solar powered electricity or Hydro power electricity? Come on dude...."

Ever heard of free wifi, or considered using you mobile data? Come on dude.....

No matter how hard you try to spin this argument, it's not going to work. Both are utilities that can HyPoThEtIcAlLy vanish tomorrow. If you want to argue that all internet can disappear tomorrow, you'll have to do the...

Hey, I have power and internet more than 99% of the time every year. Asking me, 'what if I dont have access to one utility?', is equivalent of asking me, 'what happens if I lose access to the other?'. Sorry, it's not ridiculous; you just dont understand your own argument.

Make a better argument if that's an issue for you <3

How is it not both? A trope is, most of the time, a product of successful design. When I say successful in this context I specifically mean it serves a purpose, even if that purpose is to cover up negative aspects of the game and blunt their impact. Themes wouldnt be recurring if they weren't in some way advantageous to the game design. Like using fetch quests as a way to pad a lack of side quests

Literally every game has tropes.

So the entire service is a failure because eit doesnt get the HUGEST BIGGEST GAMES OF THE YEAR at launch? Do you only play those games, or are you deliberately ignoring the masterpieces like Ori and Hollow Knight available on the service? Is PS Now a failure because it almost never gets any games that are less than a year old? Getting a new game maybe 3-6 months after launch on XGP is a damn good deal. The service has roughly 30 games planned to launch day 1 on XGP, but because they're no...

"The only thing they "got away with" in this list, as far as I can tell, is the fact that they rely on weaker hardware"

We would need evidence to show that weaker hardware plays no influence over someone's decision to purchase a system to make that claim. According to N4G its hugely important one minute and then irrelevant the next, so we have no evidence to suggest they got away with it or vice versa.

"$49 million isn't e...

"Your argument makes lots of assumption, like there being 4 games in a month worth playing and your assuming the cost of these games"

Doesn't have to be every month. And the likelihood of a combination of 4 games being that cheap is slim. it's a very safe assumption, so you're overreacting by raising that as an objection.

You're attempting to argue against the objective value in a rental service. Y...

Yakuza is not high production. Terrible example.

This narrative of XGP destroying the AAA market is basically the equivalent of the fear mongering we've been hearing for years relating to digital distribution destroying physical media.

If you buy a month of XGP, and play/finish 4 games that would've cost you multiple times than the cost of XGP to buy copies of is that a "no brain" person buying it?

This is a service where we can objectively verify it being a better deal for millions of people compared to buying games at full price retail. Your taking a really desperate position arguing against that.

Except this multiverse dies overtime. The players arent going to stick around forever. Once they're gone this games "life" goes with it. That's not the games world; that's the online function. Saying the games world is full of life because of the asynchronous online function placing structures in various areas doesnt add any wildlife, or random encounters. If anything it detracts from them. Now I just follow a road instead of exploring the...

It's a comparison designed to communicate an idea about the service to help consumers determine their interest. Pay once a month and gain access to a library.

It doesn't mean they're saying it's LiTeRaLLy NeTfLiX. The analogy doesn't have to be 100% accurate; it just has to be effective.

So you'll buy Mystery Dungeon, and Pokemon Rumble, but not S&S?

*Trusts Disney; gets duped*

Should we feel sorry now that he's making a surprised Pikachu face? George is a businessman, and should've known the risks going in. Never trust a corporation to do anything other than what they believe will make the most money.

"why reply to someone and tell them in a very condescending way why they are wrong for liking something?"

You mean like you do in negative Death Steanding reviews where you dismiss their opinion? Nice job showing you're a hypocrite.

"Obviously, time has taught us that power does not guarantee success"

Indeed. I think that one of the most overlooked factors is ease of development. If we look at the last generation, that was a major factor in some of the PS3s shortcomings that allowed the 360 to thrive in regards to multiplats.

It was also an element for why the Wii U struggled. If anything it may be *the* factor for it not finding any immediate su...

Christopher, going to be honest. If you're going to laser in on the first part of my comment, miss the context of the pizza joke, and then pretend I've deliberately ignored every other element of the game despite explaining how that is ultimately what the player does at the core of the game then no reasonable discussion can be had.

The road system has portions that are literally bridges going over large areas. Guess your accusation was projection, and it's you who's not played the game. Once mo...

I think the reality is that you're homing in on the first portion of my comment as though the second doesn't exist. I can't be accused of "complete ignore physics, platforming, tool use, stealth and environment building elements" when I mention the BT's and MULES. This is also not my only comment in the thread, as you can see a bunch of the people who accused me of being wrong were marked as spam (how surprising). I've mentioned all these elements and how they ei...
