Show me. Show me all the hype this game had leading up to launch.
How do you end up being disappointed by Anthem? There was zero hype behind that game.
@Jman1553
Except that the Switch has become the go to place for many 3rd parties. Indies almost always perform better on Switch, often outselling both the PS4 and Xbox One versions combined. We've also seen games like Battlechasers sell the best on Switch.
Your claim is that more powerful hardware will make the Switch obsolete. If there was merit to this logic why hasn't it worked out for the last 3 years? Almost as though theres no evidence to ba...
Harmless? It has the potential to cost corporations millions in sponsorship deals. You consider the loss of millions to be harmless? You must live a very cushy life.
@2pacqlypsenow
Are you going to pretend to be that stupid? "Hail victory" is a phrase rarely heard outside of Nazi circles, especially so in Germany. This isnt the sort of phrase you casually stumble upon in random conversation.
I amazed that you're arguing the phrase has no historical context, and then saying "#readthearticle" as though theres some conspiracy.
Excluding that the gameplay loop is not done "incredibly well", the combat and stealth mechanics need a huge overhaul. I'm not as good with shooters when playing with a controller, but if I'm finding it to be a breeze on consoles it means the game would offer zero challenge on PC. The stealth is pretty basic and the shooting mechanics are basically a stripped down version of MGS.
The world is definitely not well designed to complement the gameplay. Everyon...
What free games?
@shaggy2303
"Big difference between "playable" and the final product that was promised all those years ago though."
I think you don't realize how ignorant that statement is. The game has surpassed what was promised "all those years ago". This originally was meant to be nothing more than a space sim dog-fighting game, but because of the unexpected support the vision expanded into a full MMO. Ship roles became more varied i...
@Hungryalpaca
It's almost as if the people contributing have been playing, and are still liking what they're playing, which is why they keep paying into the game. Or maybe I'm just being foolish and the game isn't actually being made at all and the "devs" are all relaxing in a pool filled with cash CuZ iT's A sCaM.
I wonder which is the more likely....
@sampsonon
This is all presentation. If the limit of the criticism is that the FPS module hasn't got the best presentation then I'd say they're doing extremely well.
It's not just the acting either. A monologue about time accompanied by a broken hourglass for symbolism. It's so on the nose that it blows my mind that anyone thinks you need a strong attention span for this game.
@mkis007
The vast majority of this games cutscenes serve no purpose. All those outposts? Filler. Even when you're introduced to a new character most of the dialogue is just exposition, and very little in the way of substance for the narrative. After 30 hours the Mads Mikkelson scenes are basically on a loop and just repeating themselves.
If you don't see it then I must have been paying more attention.
I'm genuinely confused by the logic of this article. Death Stranding has vehicles which are analogous to Roach and cars in GTA, and the vehicle mechanics in DS are some of the worst I've seen in a modern AAA game. It doesn't solve the problem because if it did those vehicles wouldn't be necessary to speed up the process of travelling.
How about we talk about a major problem of open-world games obsession with having ubi-towers, and how this game actually take...
I actually have an interesting hypothesis about the story. I noticed after roughly 30 hours that whenever a cutscene started I'd sit up in my seat and think, "oh shit somethings happening", and then nothing actually happened in most cases.
If we cut down the amount of tedious gameplay in between cutscenes would it be as interesting? What I'm suggesting is that the game gives you withdrawal from the narrative, so when it does occur it's more interestin...
@Shiken
I know. Is disliking Amazon no longer justified just because they're one of the worst in regards to the reasoning I gave?
@actualwhitemen
That's not an argument. Also, that's exactly what I do; I don't buy anything from them because I don't like them. Is that a problem?
@Giblet
"And that's somehow his obligation to, how?"
That's not a ...
@ZeekQuattro
Apart from not paying taxes, awful treatment of its employees, and having a boss who has the ability to end world hunger but doesnt? Not much I guess....
I'm struggling to understand how anyone could consider the combat needing to be made "more fun and gripping" when its already more in-depth than, to my knowledge, any other modern space sim on the market.
And what is a 'proper company'?
Show me then. Dont just talk shit; actually back up your claim. People cant be disappointed by something when no one had high expectations for it. Claiming that this game didn't live up to expectations reveals yourself to be the one who lives under a rock. I remember the leadup to launch and its wasnt even close to being hyped up as amazing.
