"But those games were not using the same disc to go between platforms. What he is talking about is you buy the new Halo infinite game and you can put that disc into an xbox one (base model), S, X or the series X and it will play in any of them."
Could you give me the quote for that in the article? I just don't recall reading it so its possible I missed it.
Well then they should've been outraged about this generation. What Booty is describing happened with lots of 3rd parties at the start of this gen.
“As our content comes out over the next year, two years, all of our games, sort of like PC, will play up and down that family of devices,”
I definitely recall a lot of games in the PS4/Xbones first couple years releasing on those systems and the previous generations systems for the first year, and slightly ...
If i'm remembering correctly the PS4 announcement event was in February. Feels like a good time of year to hold an unveiling of sorts, and allows a few months before E3 for excitement to build up
It's amazing how the Wii U failed so badly that people forget it's in 3rd place and assume the Switch is in the same generation as the PS4 and Xbone.
To be honest the article doesn't paint a clear picture for either service in some areas.
"Maybe you should step out."
Cute, but you're still being obtuse and pretending @Shaggy wasn't originally referencing the original Tomb Raider. He gets what is being said; you pretended to not. No idea why you can't figure it out.
@Gemmol
Neither does the Switch. The system just overclocks when it's docked. The dock in no way contributes to the power of the system. Its 100% capable of achieving the same output in handheld mode, but Nintendo doesnt let you likely because it would increase power consumption to a level that would not leave much battery time.
Second place.
The Wii U is in 3rd place and the Switch is next gen and currently in 1st place...
@JEECE
Their position would be fine but the story is even tagged as 'rumor'. Its amazing how after all these years they still fail to understand VGChartz is an estimate.
@ssj27
"And the cover feature was copy of a game called operation wingback and there was probably another game that did that type of cover."
Just going to forget that the original Uncharted was delayed to incorporate the Gears of War cover system. Operation Wingback? You're kinda reaching by claiming the inspiration came from that when we have the developers saying otherwise.
Its impressive how ignorant you're portrayi...
@RazzerRedux
"TR was rebooted after Uncharted and adopted much from it."
Not what the OP claimed. You're damage controlling.
@Silly gameAr
"Anyone can see that the TR reboot took a lot from the Uncharted series."
Not what the OP claimed. You're damage controlling.
@Ziggurcast
They're basically the same thing. The only real difference is slight variations in the scoring system.
@averagejoe26
"Sales and fandom are what matters."
In which case MS has already outperformed Insomniac has with Minecraft. Minecraft is among the most successful games of all time, and its fandom has created numerous in-game elements that go beyond anything Insomniacs fanbase has done. With that said this is irrelevant because your standard is dumb.
Quality > sales/fanbase
Yep. it's partly what the discount is for. If a game you like is leaving and you still want to play it, buy it at a discount through the service.
@Silly gameAr
Then mention PS+, PS Now, GWG, EGS and Humble Bundle Monthly in your criticism. All of these services exist and further the culture of "cheapening games". HBM even let's you keep your games so it's REALLY cheapening games compared to XGP, but for some reason your focus is on XGP and not the entire market...
Maybe you dont actually care and just dont like XGP being successful?
@Apocalypse Shadow
"you guys talk about their low number of subscribers. And ignore that they own half the service market over EA and Microsoft."
You're referencing the SuperData study, and incase you're unaware it was proven to be outdated in less than 6 months. Since that study you would need to look at the amount of promotions XGP has had, the launch of XGP Ultimate, the price drop for PS+, the announcement that XGP has millions of su...
So after subtly suggesting Phil was lying, you go on to lie about Gears 5's sales. This is some top tier projection.
@Sceptic
"There’s no model like that, for us,”
Someone needs to make a meme of N4G sweating over the red button right now. XGP is burning money, or MS arent willing to take risks with their money. Which will they press?
@rainslacker
Interesting, but the end product is ultimately the same as last gen. A lesser version, and a superior version. My point still stands; it's just friendlier to the consumer assuming they choose to upgrade to the next generation.
