This sort of thing happened to me recently when I realized that not only had I bought Bulletstorm and Chronicles of Riddick, I had played both for several hours. Blew my mind.
The problem with those cartridge saves is that they're battery-powered. Eventually, those batteries will die and no one will ever be able to play an NES game or whatever again.
Unless some heroic company decides to re-sell them to you for upwards of $5 each, of course.
Seems pretty obvious but people still haven't picked up on it: If you can't beat someone who is using a "cheap" strategy (unless there's hacking involved or something), it's because you probably aren't very good at the game.
Just watch any fighting game match between someone who *actually* knows what they're doing and someone who is just button mashing. Button mashing might get you pretty far, but it's probably not unbeatable.

I think it's probably safe to just ignore most studies about video games...odds are the results will be very obvious and major media outlets will turn them into some stupid sensationalist story.

1943 was so fun. Once I got the achievement for playing 100 games or whatever I stopped playing...since I had done everything there was to do.
But those 100 games or whatever were great.

I really dug the last Splinter Cell...and this one turns Fisher into a superhero with a different voice. Hate to say it, but it looks a bit stupid.

Just beat this the other day. The last level is so crazy. It's like they cranked everything else from the rest of the game to another level.
Anyway, this is easily one of the best things to happen to Transformers since G1. I just hope the multiplayer community doesn't die out as quickly as it did for War For Cybertron.
