I love having a row of game boxes on my shelf...but I'd also like to be able to play them without having to swap discs and stuff.
Maybe I should just take up PC gaming.
"Jon 'Bones' Jones, Lyoto 'The Dragon' Machida, Antonio 'Minotauro' Nogueira"
Are these...real nicknames? Is having a cool nickname a badge of honor in UFC or is it a requirement for entry?
I don't want to fault them for trying something new (which I'm sure must be EXTREMELY tempting for the devs behind the second sequel to a sequel), but this stuff sounds awful.
It reminds of me Call of Duty's "Hey, nothing is quite broken, so let's just do something different for no reason!" approach, which I guess is to be expected with all these annual sequels.
I would buy a real Mario Kart...then I could be like that French guy on Youtube who dresses like Mario and...well, does lots of illegal stuff with a go-kart...
And that Wheatley light is awesome.
I do miss the old days of grabbing a sheet of cheat codes and screwing around with a game for a while...
But, for me at least, that was usually the death of a game. Once you've cheated to see everything or whatever, the fun of actually playing it quickly disappears.
I think there's loads of creativity out there...it just seems like most people don't want it as much as they claim to. Your Calls of Duty will always outsell your...I dunno, Enslaveds or something.
If creativity is the sort of thing that's important to you, you just have to make an effort to support the studios that actually do creative things.
It seems like it should be easy to make a Toy Story game...you can have space/shooter stuff with Buzz or goofy cowboy stuff with Woody...maybe a level where you play as the dinosaur?
Man, now I wanna play a Toy Story game...
Bah, I should've remembered who had that stupid faux-hawk!
The thing about the VGAs, especially this year, is that there are CLEARLY people behind the scenes who are trying to do the right thing. They brought Miyamoto and Kojima on stage (even if they did inexplicably not give them translators), the awards went to reasonably deserving parties (3 for Bastion!), and Felicia Day was doing that stupid shit for Child's Play at least.
It's just that the good things get almost completely drowned out by the horrible things...and t...
Yeah, but it's still a Nintendo board game thing. I know they're not the same, but I'd say they're at least related.
Yeah, that was weird.
What's more weird is that she'll be voiced by Nolan North.
After giving up halfway through Twilight Princess, I'm actually interested in giving this one a try since i've heard so many good things...but I have loads of other games I need to get through first.
"Skyward Sword just made Zelda formulaic"
I'm pretty sure The Legend of Zelda made Zelda formulaic.
You...wear a costume and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids?
This one time when I was little, my parents bought a Nintendo 64 for my sister and I, and when I opened it they were videotaping and I got really excited and...
Ah, no wait. That was that kid in that youtube video. Never mind.
LUIGI IS BANKSY.
NG3 just doesn't seem the same to me without Itagaki on board. It'd be like making a Metal Gear game without Kojima.
But yeah, I also had no idea this game had multiplayer until now...and it doesn't seem that exciting.
Rick Perry: Zombie Basher is gonna be a crazy game. There's something seriously wrong in this country when zombies can, you know, take it over.
I'd hardly say this makes the immersion fail...I'd just say this makes it a video game. I'd just assume that I'm the only one buying weapons/armor because everyone else had to give up adventuring after they took that arrow to the knee.
I really liked the author's perspective on this...I don't care much about soccer (being the stupid Amurrican that I am), but I thought this was pretty cool.
