Here's a question about this vid: Isn't kinect designed to work by detecting limbs on the body and mapping it to character on screen? How is tucking your arms in and using a controller going to work? I thought there was that whole debacle a week ago about how baggy shirts or pants/skirts caused confusion for the system. Would the kinect system even see the controller? It's not exactly lighted like the Move one to the 3D camera.
The vid is a concept... not an actual Kinect implementation. For all we know the guy could just be "acting" out how he thinks it should work.
I've played both Gears and Geow2. I was seriously impressed the first time I saw Geow as it did usher in the feeling of HD gaming. However by the time I played Uncharted and subsequent PS3 exclusives, I felt the complete opposite with gears 2. The story was extremely hackneyed and the movements were blockier than ever.
When KZ2 came out, I was disappointed with the controls, but neither my friends nor I came to the conclusion you did Southern Banana. We felt like ...
your a fanboy. Stating sales numbers and metacritic aggregate as proof that Gears of War 3 is better technically is idiotic. It's like me saying that I'm smarter than you because you have no gamertag icon and because I have one more comment bubble.
If lighting and shadowing is such a simple add-on, why did it take the 360 down to its knees with Alan Wake? I seem to recall Alan Wake barely having enough going on running at 960 x 540. Pre-baking is one way KZ2 used to cheat processing costs, but it does not in any way take from the sheer amount of deferred light sources shown on screen at the same time as well as particle effects. We all seem to forget explosions and shrapnel are bouncing everywhere while in the presence of all this l...
Nice lighting. Definite improvement in multiplayer lighting that you can tell. It's looking pretty polished but still some work needs to be done. For example at 1:35 we still see characters clipping into walls...
I don't think there's a point protesting something like this if MW2 was able to depict you slaughtering innocent people which in my opinion is much worse. I mean with MOH at least involves two armed groups taking on each other. Sure playing the terrorists is controversial... but at least it's two people holding guns at each other.
No it wouldn't. That's utter crock. That's what you have memory chips for... to store firmware/software for future updates. The TRUE reason they pulled the CPU is simple. To cut cost.
Yea we saw the demo, but we didn't see it playing on the 360 lol.
I'd like to see this on the xbox 360 gameplay before I make a judgement.
wow... that kinetic trailer is just FULL of BS moments, it's amazing how there's literally less than 10% of things possible with the current product. No sitting, no playing in baggy pants, what is that dress up program lol, no voice recognition. No 4 people sitting together playing trivia using their hands as buzzers...
Is that chart in the article even real.... It's Conceivablytech's paint version of the future lol.
Games via XBLA or PSN are far easier to produce then their full budget counterparts. As mentioned in many reviews, Limbo's replayability is quite low considering gameplay is mainly platforming/obstacle traversal.
Your argument is exactly where I am going with Limbo. It doesn't cost even a 1/4 of what it costs to make heavenly sword. It's like a 1/10 or a 1/20th (anywhere from $100-250k to develop Ie Braid).

It's soooooo sad reading some of the MS fanboy's blind enthusiasm for a company well documented to have "stolen" (not borrow, stolen") plenty of code and enriching themselves in the process over the last 3 decades.

Do yo...
Kind of reminds me of how MS handled the RROD debacle originally as well. Claiming it was the user not providing enough ventilation lol.
My question to you guys then is... what did Apple ever do to you?
Did they not stick it in your a** quite as many times as microsoft? I guess its true when they say you always remember your first /s
"Dude your the most stereotypical fantard ever, looking at your past comments it's clearly pointless trying to reason with you."
As a opposed to an 'intelligent' shill like yourself?
How is LIMBO's dev budget compare to Heavenly Sword's again?
My opin: Wait until price drops to a more reasonable $9.99 or less.
Well here's the real kicker in my opinion. Microsoft could've easily elected to design the 360 S case and make it unable to stand on its side.... which would pretty much solve the problem too... But did they? Hell no. Moneyshaker!
Maybe instead of having to monitor your kid every time they play the 360S, You don't buy the slim and you get a PS3. /s
@Idle: How does wanting to make a documentary to instill faith in the fans a "negative" PR? They didn't even have a chance to make the video. WTF are you and Rare corporate thinking? How about letting them film first, develop the documentary , and then deny distribution if you don't like the message?
