what's with all these phantom disagrees. Are there really 10 Microsoft employees trolling this site? lol
let me throw some more fire on the pile for kicks.
Asia: Where the market with undoubtedly shift toward in the next couple of years. You Americans owe a sh1t-load (in the trillions) of cash to us and so do you Europeans. Start crunching down cuz your ass is grass. Stop wasting your money on the xbox360. We shake our heads every time we manufacture one of them for you lol. Oh wait, no keep buying! Cha-ching.
There is no such quote or headline " If Indiana Jones and Uncharted 2 had a love child it would be this game" in the whole article.
Just a big ol' attempt at getting clicks. Lame.
i've been continually impressed so far by how many steps microsoft, microsoft's paid media, and fanboys have tried every tactic in the book to debunk this game. For a so called, "8.4" game, that is alot of effort and I have to give props for such a strong smear campaign. I say smear campaign because it's simple: The primary game of choice in the US are TPS/FPS. Racecar games like GTA5 sell well in Europe and yet most of the media drivel/attacks seem center around here...
That's video demonstrates exactly what would happen if the physics is accurate but the damage model isn't. Cars racing at high speed fly when they impact other cars due to the sudden change in downforce. I think we've all seen enough NASCAR video crashes to know this. Problem being is that when they land on other cars, it usually crushes the car underneath. Unfortunately, that part hasn't been properly modeled in and I doubt anyone has that down either (let alone car manufa...
@disagrees: isolate the audio channels and tell me i'm lying. Ridiculous xbots.
Again, there is a HUGE differenc in sound support and quality. Listen to the cockpit engine revs and the drive bys. Forza 3 t seems to be recorded away from the hood whether in third person drive or cockpit.. GT5 literally sounds like it was recorded inside the cockpit right in the seas. Listen to the tire squeals, cornering, runing over dividers, bumps braking. Forza3 sounds completely flat next to gt5. That is handsdown win in the sound department if there ever was.

i think they're trying to show how poor the kinect's sales performance is compared to something 4x it's price.
Considering the kinect is only selling 2x as well... that's only 1/2 as good as it should be...*sarcasm
I DID! I DID SAW A PUDDI TAT !
Since we already know about the shadowing, lighting, # of cars, physics and collision differences between the two title, I thought I would look at something else.
My observation focus has been on sound and it sounds to me that GT5's sound recording is more complete then Forza3's of the R8. The main difference i hear is the R8 in GT5 has drive by audio that is non-existent in Forza 3. The car sounds sharper as it approaches you and then swishes past with the sound i...
I'll have a big Mock with extra mocking here two.
@hesido: Agreed. The way GT5 is designed, it is as if the whole body including the outer shell is rigid. In a real NASCAR vehicle, only the frame is rigid.. which is why everything peels off but it still bounces.
The point it seems is that GT5 doesn't model physics to that extent yet, but what it does.. it does really well in my opinion.
I've seen NASCAR racecars flip like that before. Excluding body damage and parts flying everywhere and a car that is driveable after, I actually think the simulation is actually accurate in terms of the roll and bounce. Check out

at around 0:21.
They really bounce/roll alot as you can see.
Certainly far more accurate...
@king of casuals:
Actually i believe the real reason is "space issue". If you've ever been to Tokyo or any major city in Japan, the living rooms are about 1/3 the size of the average american households. I can literally touch the opposite walls of my bedroom in Tokyo in an apartment... and the hallways are even smaller.
Agreed Pirate Thom. I doubt the Fiat 500 even had enough horsepower to pull itself up that steep grade. These cars are modeled pretty carefully based off their weight vs. power ratios. I know when I used to drive an old 85 Camry it was hitting the low 20mphs when I tried to climb something like that course.
@ico92:
The iPad version plays like a shooter on rails. It's good, but kinda monotonous after a while. There are only like 3 or 4 kind of enemies for what is about 3 stages worth of gameplay. It's cheap though at $1.99
Here's a quick litmus test to see how 'unbiased" reviewers are these days.
Let's look at other 6/10 titles compared to GT5 and really compare their quality range. Is GT5 really a bug-ridden race title that breaks it's main gameplay mechanics? I fail to see how a 6/10 is warranted.
To me a 6 means a game is barely playable and has some serious flaws that break the game and the immersive experience. I think that is not the case with this particular title. No one for example has faulted GT5's driving aspect as anything but brutally accurate, so i really fail to see how the mechanics are flawed. The reviewer could lower the score based on his dislike of the game but anything under 7 is suggesting frame rate issues, control lag, broken sound and wonky physics are par...
MS must have really put a large budget up to discredit GT5. I haven't seen so many negative press on a game come out from both publications and fanboy comments from any other game than this franchise. Wow lol!
Face it, I've seen the R8 upclose and it has a ring of LED lights around both the front and rear headlights. The Forza3 model clearly lacks this so called "detail". That may not sound like much, but compound it by about 400 different cars and track ...
Actually no. It's not just N4G. It's called the Department of Justice and the countless lawsuits that MS has gotten over the years for patent and trademark infringements.
