I firmly believe that unless Gears comes up with new original game-play elements, it will be pretty much the same game as Gears1. R2 will own Gears b/c of new array of completely different weaponry, huge improvement in gfx (compared to gears 2's evolutionary change), waaaay more enemies on screen that fight vs a scripted flood of mindless locusts (100 locusts... actual 3-5 fighting, rest just bumbling about into each other like the game-play video). Serious this publisher needs to stop trying to save money and spend some quality time learning next generation console programming, animation, 3D modeling, etc. I mean is this it???? Zoids for 360 which looks like a cleaner looking ps2 game and Persona 4 for... the PS2? What about hiring some new artists/programmers or at least paying for training for these last gen artists/programmers?
I would say devil may cry 4 comes pretty close and has better animation... but i'm sure you'll disagree with no explanation (hint hint).
Actally it looks like it might play more like champions of norrath or baldur's gate... but those are ps2 titles...
Maybe it is another grindfest and you're just shutting your eyes to reality. The enemies look the same. You have the melee fighters who come in small, medium or large. I see nothing the way of a revolutionary. And if it is an RPG... why hasn't the story been even hinted at really? Looks more like open world devil may cry4 to me.

I disagree with you. Where is the sandbox level you are talking about? It's just as linear... He's literally running around in a drill derrick the whole time while it follows... a linear path.
your kidding yourself right? It looks like a slightly better gow1 with more interactions happening on screen... that's about it. I take that back after rewatching it. The interaction # is still the same. 3-5 enemies per encounter.
