The bumpmapping is gone. More color to the rocks on the ground actually makes the texture look worse. There's no "airbrushed" shadowing on them now... so...

I think the 360 games are already using something like this in their tech. Having less than 9.4 GB to work with per disc and no HD, necessitates this technology for the xbox360 titles. I think only Naughty dog has implemented something like this on the PS3 side.
Its proprietary info/tech. Konami is an outside company. Sony doesn't want their technology filtering to their competitors Nintendo or MS.
I always look forward to Yahtzee's review but this seems to be one of his less entertaining ones. They've got full access to SCE's database of info from Guerilla's lighting models, to Insomniac's SPE utilization and framerate optimization, to Naughty Dog's animation blending. Plus they have Sony's budget to work with, which is probably 10X what Radical Entertainment gets to work with. I-p student... you need to do some research. Sony's margins on LCD TVs are sick. Literally sick. They don't produce their LCDs (owned/produced by Samsung) and their costs to produce these units are lower than Vizio's. If you've ever looked at Vizio's sale prices, every dollar in between vizio and sony's price for the same size LCD is pure unadultered profit. I dunno what reviews you've read, but all reviews have put safari at least = to firefox in terms of speed ... and that was 3.00 . This one just shows that 3.1.2 safari is even faster than safari 3.00, only proving that apple is continuously tweaking and improving the browser. A great thing, b/c it gives everyone a choice.
