They have trouble separating a game with gorgeous graphics from a movie. If they ever get a game of this quality, they'd probably ask if it's rated R...
You see, a PS3 owner like me can already tell between the two. After games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2, graphics that are unmatched is just another PS3 exclusive.
In my personal opinion, I say Gears 2 was better than the first. The online and story still needs a ton of work, but the campaign was fun.
And I don't think their saying the franchise is a failure. They're basically listing things that would help it reach Modern Warfare status.
Yes, it's a linear shooter. Does that make it a bad game? Does it make it less deserving to win Game of the Year? No. It's one of (if not the) best "linear shooter" of all time.
I can very well see that it's a shooter like any other. What you're failing to see is that it does things right, which "any other shooter" can't do.

I liked the True Crime games. I'll be looking into these and hopefully it will be better than the others. Those had way too many glitches, etc.

I've played both, and it really should have been Uncharted 2. Even if U2 wouldn't have won, Assassin's Creed 2? Really? I LOVE the game, but even Arkham Asylum beats that one out. Especially when it comes to action.

Microwave scene was by far the most emotional and engaging experiences in any video game I've ever had. You literally found yourself trying your hardest to get him to the end, and whether he fell or not, I kept trying.
That very scene. Above any single Halo scene, any Uncharted scene, any past MGS scene, any Final Fantasy scene. Kojima, what a true storytelling genius he is!
