Who would have more features for free out of the box? I still think one is missing many things in hardware that would make it an equal console.
True, true. That would be very hard to sell to the crowd. I love the marketing now because it feels more like the funny PS2 commercials they used to have. Just today I noticed 5 PS3 commercials in one channel (MTV). 4 were about the price drop and one was from the Joker DLC.
Because a song describing why a console sucks 2 years ago is really relevant...

When it comes to features the hardcore gamers care about, XBL still has the edge. When it comes to a gamer who thinks with his money and not necessarily his experience, PSN has the edge. Will both be equal eventually? I think so.
There are a ton of things that you would have to factor in when thinking about it, though:
Best, Most Unique & Biggest Downloadable Games (PSN)
Most DLC (XBL)
Cheapest (PSN)
Most (Hardcore) Gamer-Related Features (XBL) ...
It's about time they pulled their head out of their asses and took things seriously...
They finally learned that the PlayStation name and popularity was something that was earned through hard work. Somewhere along the lines (and success of the PS2) they forgot that.

It's one of the most annoying things ever. Other than that, some countdowns are OK. Others just make a countdown with the most ridiculous number one just to stir some conversations.
The 360 as a console is Sh*t with a capitol S (as you can tell). Some of their exclusives, however, are worth playing. When it comes to buying the console, I wouldn't recommend. You'd be better off going to a friend's house. Since it's prone to breaking alot (and me not believing in buying the same console twice- once it's broken, it's over), I'd say risk breaking your friend's instead =D

My SNES broke when I was younger, but I don't remember how. I know I didn't break it cuz I was out and came back to it broken. Still, that was the only problem. So far, I've only had one problem each with every company:
Nintendo - Broken SNES (ended up getting a PS1 & N64 later)

I have an original 60GB PS3 and I'm buying this. Why? Because for one, they aren't upscaled graphics, they are 720p HD (PS2 games don't look that great on an HDTV). They added trophy support, which adds replayability and three, it's what consumers chose out of a survey. It's $40 for god sakes, it's not gonna break the bank. It's actually been 2 weeks of people buying Slims (before the release date) and it's been continuously selling well, dropping between spots one and two of Amazon, selling out twice in that same website, getting back-ordered at Best Buy and Gamestop and selling out on their website. That's not counting the many times people have been going to retailers to find some (where it would also occasionally sell out).

it's the same game with added features and HD graphics. That would be worth it for many people, especially considering there are people who re-purchase PS1 games and Xbox originals that are basically just thrown in there (with the exception of manuals in the PS1 classics).
