Spencer has been like that since before he joined the Xbox team - he's just not been in a position where it [really] mattered. If anyone's copying anyone, it's the other way around. Spencer is as genuine as it gets.
What has been achieved on the 7th gen. consoles:
1. can last ten years or more ✓(X360 is in its 9th year, PS3 in its 8th. Both will hit 10.)
2. Ten years of - support ✓(Can still download content for launch title/window titles)
3. Direct input from it's gaming community ✓ (Halo 4's multiplayer - look how much it has changed since launch)
5. Gamers through some process can add some things to the game √ (Halo's Forge)

It's highly unlikely that anything Xbox will ever outsell a Nin/Sony platform in Japan... That being said, it doesn't have to outsell anything to be successful. The XO is behind the PS4 on a global scale, but it's still doing phenomenally well! What everyone seems to forget is that MS and Sony aren't playing for #1, they're playing for good sales - regardless of what "place" that puts them in.

I agree! There are so many AAA J-exclusives that I've unfortunately had to miss out on because I don't speak the language and/or have a japanese X360. But now that the XO is region-free, hopefully the task of translating the games will prove to be worthwhile for traditionally j-exclusives titles.

Not if Google has any say in it. They're rolling Fiber out all over the US (with one of the planned cities being mine), and they're doing so at impossibly aggressive prices!
When they fully roll out their coverage, US IPS (which are notoriously some of the worst in the [developed] world) will HAVE to step up their game or completely lose their "install base."
I can't wait for that day. Three maybe four years? That's where I see us be...
