So glad that Halo: Nightfall and the Halo TV show aren't being canceled. Those are the only two reasons that I was excited about the Xbox Originals content. The Atari documentary is cool, but I could live without it.

I hate how crap like this paints legitimate Kickstarted projects... Been wrestling with how we (roommates) are going to be presenting ours, then when stuff like this pops up it makes us rethink even bothering...
Especially when someone will get 50,000+ for potato salad, whereas we probably wouldn't even generate 1/5th of that.

The issue with that argument is that the best of MS's exclusives are exclusive to their consoles. Good luck playing Halo MCC/5, or Sunset Overdrive, or Scalebound, or Phantom Dust, or Crackdown, (etc.) on PC.
Which is 100% the case, and is 100% true.

I agree with both of you. Some games deserve revisiting (Halo 2), and some don't. Some games justify their remasters (Halo: MCC (leads up to Halo 5 with "bridge" content and beta access), and some don't (Tomb Raider/TLOU). Some are just nice (Metro: Redux), and some aren't.
That being said, this shouldn't become the norm. It's nice for nostalgia/"filling the gap", but I really don't want this to be the "remake generation"....
I'll believe "regardless of platform" when I get one on my XO.
When you're treated like seconds, your opinion of whatever it is that's treating you as such tends to be reevaluated.
