Played both. Dark Souls was better in every way. Demon's Souls literally teleported you to where you needed to go, then you progressed through the (mostly) linear level. Dark Souls had the more difficult "level" progression.
If they said it like that, then they couldn't add the game to the list of "PS4 exclusives" that everyone is always copy/pasting.
Too busy making the sequel that the know will sell millions to bother allocating resources to rerelease the trilogy.
