the valve in the eye logo was better
I think some games would be better suited as MMOs. imagine gears of war with a persistent world. same gameplay, but add leveling up (not a dice rolling type of leveling up, but better access to weapons and armor and vehicles), weapon customization, PvE and PvP, and evolving quest-lines (missions). would be pretty amazing if you ask me. i agree with you somewhat though...most games just wouldn't work. the good news is, most publishers aren't going to be willing to fork out the 50-...
steam is a service like xbox live or psn (sorta). you can load portal 2 onto any computer that has steam with your account on it. you download steam.
we don't need a how-to video or a website to explain it. they explain it very clearly on the card that comes inside the case.
so go put 5 dollars down at gamestop. you don't like it, move the 5 dollars to something else later.
well, that was a completely pointless read. and not at all news, btw.
LOL. if 3 years of gears of war 2 didn't change their attitude towards the OP chainsaw, i really doubt a one month beta is going to do anything.
no game is gonna beat that for a WHILE. so much random craziness can happen in halo.
after the last few years of playin gears, i'm pretty desensitized. seemed pretty run-of-the-mill gears killin to me. and i'm VERY disappointed to see that they didn't tone down the chainsaw to where it was in gears 1. Looks as OP and unbalanced as it was in gears 2. guess i'll find out for myself on the 25th.
he didn't promote piracy. what aren't you sony obsessed followers getting about this? he did exactly what you can do with just about anything else you purchase. if you buy a car and then modify the muffler, you aren't committing a crime.
if people are using his modification for negative reasons, then go after them. all he did was make the ps3 do what sony advertised it was capable of doing when it originally launched. then they reneged on the deal...and instea...
i think you're using the word "amazing" a bit loosely here.
bulletstorm is okay...i'll even accept good. but amazing? i've played thousands of games in my life and i'm not sure the word amazing accurately describes any of them...except maybe Half Life 2.
manned space flight and landing on the moon is amazing. niagra falls is amazing. those people that can write entire paragraphs on a grain of rice are amazing...
didn't say they wouldn't. i said they better. but it's a lot cheaper to have a few dedicated servers for limited beta than for a final product that will probably sell 5mil +
why is everyone so damn sensitive on n4g? there was no insult in my comment. i just know from my previous 2 gears purchases that there has been a very distinct host advantage and the game itself just felt kind of broken? and it always seemed like the solution would be dedicated servers. M...
Dedicated servers? this better carry over to the retail launch or this is going to be a VERY misleading beta.
no doubt. or another why sony is better than xbox or xbox is better than sony. or another "dice wants new consoles" article. ugh.
btw, listening to amber rayne talk about gaming was the best of the videos. just bein herself, not trying to do anything, and talking about games.
what's happening is every idiot person on every idiot gaming blog that gets to do interviews asks the same idiot questions. what is dice supposed to do? tell them to piss off? they have to answer their questions, why would they give different responses?
interviewer one: you think this generation needs to end?
response: yes, soon.
interviewer two: i heard interviewer one ask if you think this generation needs to end. uh...same question.
respon...
did you read the article? that's exactly what it says.
when you factor in the 20 dollar credit you get from amazon, the ps3 version is actually the better deal...even if you only intend to play on PC.
The version isn't inferior...the deal is inferior. if you only own a 360, you're still getting a great game.
why does everyone always have to make this into a competition?
who isn't looking at it from the manufacturer's perspective? nobody is being held hostage. Dice didn't kidnap the children of the CEOs of MS and Sony and demand new consoles.
they just said they would really like to have new hardware to work with.
and dice isn't the only company asking for this at this point. we've had a few developers and publishers asking for it now.
i'm not saying i expect to see a new console ...
