he doesn't have to play both. sony exclusive owners will blindly champion any exclusive over anything else even if they look as good as rage. i mean come on..twisted metal is mindless fun...but it's not a great franchise. the history of twisted metal is this: incredibly glitchy but fun with a friend. that is all.
I agree, i think gears definitely played a big part. then again, battlefield 3 might be october...that could be trouble. rage looks awesome though, i'd rather not have to wait.
last night my friend and i had to turn on our xboxes to chat while playing ps3...how sad is that?
@adaminy: probably cuz if i had to use my PC headset to chat while on my ps3, the sound would be muffled through my headphones. and if you're just using the mic and speakers of the laptop, you'd have constant background noise. either way, this is a feature that should simply be built into PSN and it's amazing to me that it still isn't.
Only on N4G would a very reasoned and well said comment (about sony) like this have more disagrees than agrees. you made a couple really good points man. that's exactly how i felt. i should have been 32" for 750. that would have been a much more sellable product if you ask me. as it is, i do most of my gaming solo (that is to say i do multiplayer online) so the 2 images to 2 people means almost nothing to me. for just a few hundred more, i can get a really nice 40-50" 3D t...

So many great great looking games coming out at the end of the year (Skyrim, Deus Ex, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 (that's a lotta 3's), etc..), and none of them have me worked up quite like this.
But Sidewinder with the Reach engine...OMG!!!
since it isn't a remake, i'm guessing it'll only be 2 player co-op. good enough for me though. CE was such a great game...can't even count how many times i played through that game with my roomate in college. load up the bong, and play Two Betrayals on Legendary. quite possibly the most fun i've ever had in gaming.

play any game on pc and ps3 and there's a very obvious difference. this is just the nature of things. look at a game as basic as portal 2 running on an 8 year old graphics engine. looks much better on pc.
ps3 looks slightly better when comparing exclusives...third party is another story. both consoles are past their prime. the difference is that ps3 exclusive owners are OBSESSED with their system...360 ...

They probably won't make a second uncharted for ngp. my guess is, while ngp will definitely be cool and powerful, it will do only slightly better than psp. and uncharted is probably the only reason it will do slightly better.

not at all. i had black ops for 360 and traded it within 2 weeks...awful game. but then! steam did a free weekend so i thought i'd try it on pc...and i was amazed. i've never seen a game play and look WORSE on pc like that. what a POS game. i can't figure out why ppl buy it...it's just such complete junk.

not when the established franchise is a sequel to a game nobody asked for. for this entire generation i didn't see a single person say "gee, i sure do miss twisted metal." then when it was announced as a ps3 exclusive it suddenly became (just like all ps3 exclusives) the greatest game of all time. rage will outsell twisted metal...guaranteed. in fact, i'd be willing to bet it sells double.
