how can you say a game that isn't out is goty? how can you say ANY game is goty til the year is over?
@guy above: that's one of the available abilities for your load out. it seems to make you invulnerable to dmg for about 3 seconds. personally, the evade option seems to be the most effective. the flying one appears to really just turn you into an easy target.
here you have EA...one of the biggest companies in gaming getting beat at their own bullsh!t games by activision. then, instead of realizing "hey, maybe i can get my popularity back by rethinking the mistakes i've made" because activision is the new bad guy, they compete to see who's better at nickel and diming the consumer.
i wish a lot of you would wise up and stop supporting these 2 giants. cut em down to size. there's an easy way to do it...stop buying their infe...
it's 30 on amazon...new. free shipping. you'd have it in time for the beta.
and abriael: you're missing the point again. you aren't just paying for the beta. you're paying half price for a fun game that happens to include a lot more additional fun starting may 3rd. :)
was a great game. a lot of fun single player. even better with 4 player co-op. plus firefight was a good time killer for a couple weeks. i don't think the game should have been 60 dollars...but i've certainly paid 60 dollars for a LOT less.
bottom line...you can get odst now for 30 dollars...so stop making excuses. it's totally worth 30 dollars, and i know a lot of ppl who'd be willing to pay more to get into the reach beta. i'm one of em...fortunately, i don't have to.
quite the worthless article.
Kevin Butler. and what about that woman that does the nintendo press conferences with reggie? what an annoying beeyotch.
@guy above me: they didn't criticize the ps3 supporters until the ps3 support got all over them for saying they didn't like developing for the cell processor. that's their business, but the sony guys couldn't leave well enough alone. you claim to be objective, and yet you seem to take the narrow view of a ps3-only gamer. maybe valve shouldn't have said al...
the game is a lot faster than the last one. that might help the balance. notice you don't see any koreans owning at the twitch games like FPS. maybe now that the game is like SC1 on crack, we might have a chance.
then again...
once the game begins the host is the host...one of the players. as long as they don't sever that connection, they can host forever.
i'm willing to bet that we'll hear a follow up story about how these dedicated players get free 360s and reach betas.
kinda feels like a guild break up. and if it's anything like a guild break up...the newly formed guild (company) will likely fail after the first release.
virtual boy did 3d and it failed miserably. and remember those old holographic arcade games? they sucked too.
natal...move...3d...they aren't next gen. they are next gen inhibitors. they are delaying the release of the real next gen equipment in favor of appealing to the broad audience that are into silly little gimmicks. the wii audience basically. the reason the hardcore don't favor wii, and 3rd party wii titles fail, is because we don't want to look like wacky waving inf...
didn't sony already admit that ps3 would be an inferior 3d player? that it would have to sacrifice quality to get the effect?
maybe i misunderstood...even if i didn't, i'd get nothing but disagrees anyway. but just throwing it out there that it sounds like, once again, people are jumping the gun with their expectations.
if they can do it, great. but i'll reserve judgement for the final product.
as far as 3D gaming goes: am i the only one who thinks it'll be...
i didn't say i think violent games make kids violence. i'm saying if you're gonna cry about drugs, maybe you should focus on the potentially more harmful of the two. if you really think a bunch of gamers talking about drugs will influence a dumbass kid, but the violence won't, then you're completely misguided. which is what my point was. i love when ppl try to engage in arguments but don't listen to the point made by the person you're debating.
i don't think a kid shouldn't be...
there is nothing "kid friendly" about the majority of the video games covered on this site.
and weed is the one drug that should be glorified. it grows naturally outta the ground and makes games, movies, music, sex, etc... better. it's the wonder drug.
let me ask you this...what kills more people each year? weed or violence? well weed, in all of history, has killed 0 ppl. violence...millions. so for you (just another nutcase) to somehow mix it up in ...
i played all of ff13 baked (it's the only way i could get through it). and the RE/L4D series? really? those games are 123408971234x more fun while blazed.
I would imagine that if MS went to bungie with a blank check and said "develop a next gen halo" for our next system, it'd be hard to turn down.
i don't think you realize how many people own or have played half life 2 that have nothing to do with the orange box. on pc...you can buy every single one of those games individually. and i guarantee you most ppl who already had half life 2 long before orange box was even an idea, didn't bother to buy the orange box when they already owned HL2, CS:S, and probably Episode 1. Don't base your judgement solely on the reports you get for console. pc is a whole nother beast.
as for...
they are testing functionality. if they implement a system that doesn't agree with the whole, they'd know right away. i'm sure all those things you mentioned are being done. their whole Q&A team is probably doing nothing but playing the beta with us. they will probably set up forums as a way to report issues. they could possibly even implement something faster, like a 'report issue' option as part of the game.
plus, as i understand it, every playback is available tempor...
Splinter Cell campaign is much longer than 5 hours. it took me about 12 on realistic. and if you're not playing SC on realistic, you really have no business playing as Sam Fisher in the first place.
i do agree though, the co-op is a lot of fun, and a great addition. how anyone can complain that there is a separate co-op that is just as fun as the campaign is far beyond me. seems to me that is a mark in ubi soft's favor. but hey, there is a certain group of gamers that will c...
would need to know a lot more about your lap top. but i can tell you this, google chrome seems to have a choppiness to it's videos while they are still loading. if i wanna watch gametrailers, i have to wait for the video to fully d/l before i can watch the stream. firefox doesn't seem to have that problem.
my first suggestion would be to try a different browser...but i am going on almost no information
