The Oculus Rift 2.0 uses a camera to do its tracking. And is said to be much improved do to that. So I'm sorry could you say again which console is closer to VR ready?
Hint: a prototype head set does not make one close to VR. MS has said several times they've already been playing with it to.

On Topic: The devs said we should expect the game sooner rather than later, and since its not an all new game, they could announce a release date soon as it will need little marketing.
Plus they said that its being developed for the X1, but has not been officially announced. I heard that Blizzard and Sony made a deal where all marketing and press are for the PS4 only, which seems really weird to me.

I would ask you this; How many AAA releases have come to the PS4 since the beginning of the year?
I'm not saying nothing has launched on the PS4, what I'm saying is that the big AAA experiences people buy $4-500 consoles for are not there. NOW with the launch of Infamous it has a big AAA release.

The PS4 is available at amazon, and as far as I can tell has been for over a week. I looked (for fun) Monday, and have checked periodically though out the week and it's been available for prime shipping the whole time. It may have been available even longer but I can't say for sure.
I would bet that some ppl/parents/gift givers, that were going to the store to buy a PS4 and couldn't bought an X1. You got to remember not everyone (in fact few) are as hardcore about...
It was announced Sony makes about $30 on each PS4. MS makes more.
Sony has no wiggle room. As of now they make money on the PS4, but just. So if they drop the price it will bring every PS4 purchased into the red.
Also a retailer discounting something is not the same as a price cut. Lots of times it has nothing to do with the item discounted. They do it in an effort to drive traffic so other areas can see a boost.

I've had an X1 since day one, and I can tell you the Kinect is awesome for turning on/off the console, opening apps, pausing shows, recording clips, broadcasting yourself, and signing in. It's slick, easy to use, and by September will most likely have the kinks worked out (occasional lack of voice and face recognition).
I would never have bought the Kinect if it was a separate device. And I honestly can tell you its pretty cool, and am glad I have it. I'm not sitt...

Sell better? Well since numbers haven't been released yet how do you know how well it sold? You don't, you're trolling and hoping to spread misinformation.

I think the point is that they are discounting it to get people in the door, not the console out.
Gamers spend a lot of money, and retailers want that money to be spent in their stores. If they were having an issue selling them, and wanted them out the door, the discount wouldn't be $10, which is enough to help people in the door, and not enough to get consoles out. If that was indeed retailers goal.
