The PS3 sold well in comparison to the X360. It sold horribly compared to the PS2. They were in a position to dominate yet kind of crapped the bed and in the end basically broke even with X360.
Sony being ahead as much as it is only makes unintelligent people think Xbox isn't doing well. There is a very large group of people who know absolutely nothing about business and come on here and act as if they're experts. Just stroll through this comment section and you will see many of them.
MS is making huge strides in the Xbox division. 15 Million (estimated) consoles in peoples home. BC compatibility. Win 10 integration. An all new and faster UI. Strongest fal...
It would be cool if at the Gamescom Xbox presser if right before it was over Phil was like "oh and the new UI is available right NOW, enjoy!"
The question you have to ask yourself is it a fact that matters? Can you play a sales lead? Do you pay less for the games because of the lead?
The FACT is to a gamer the lead means NOTHING as its not gotten PS4 owners anything other than timed content that Sony had to pay to get.
When I go home and turn on my X1 and 4K TV, I don't enjoy my games less. These facts you are so keen to boast about are worthless. Now that's a fact.
Its funny how we are talking about scores because when The Order got bad scores people on N4G went insane about how unimportant scores are. Now they mean something.
Its ok that MS has the better fall line up, they did last year too. It doesn't take anything away from what the PS4 has accomplished. This going to be hard for many of you to hear but BOTH consoles are doing great. Both are selling very well (one better) and have strengths in different areas.
I do love when PS4 fans try to downplay resolution when talking to PC fans and play it up when talking to X1 fans haha.
On topic. I wish this game was coming out sooner. This fall is like 2007 and its going to be far to busy to replay old games, no matter how good they are. I guess this will be the perfect January game for me.
Downplay downplay downplay???
I do love how many big releases you feel the X1 has this year and I agree it's the console to own this fall! But TR won't get lost in all of the amazing X1 games coming out because it is one of those games.
It coming to other consoles is irrelevant until it actually does. The fact is if you want to play it and if the last TR is any indication then you most certainly should want to you will have to do it on the X1 until o...
I guess I'm confused does TR and Fallout compete for the same gamer? I would think not. I absolutely can't wait for fallout but depending on how many open world games I've played by then. Which is probably a lot. I'll be very much looking forward to a fantastic story driven game like TR.
I guess I'm not sure why people think both can't be successful???
To those above: you guys have shown several times now that you don't know what attach rate is let alone how it affects developers decision making process so "bye Felicia!"
When it comes to Cod MS sees the law of diminishing returns and decided to spend their money elsewhere. SMART. Did you happen to hear the statistic that the last 2 cod combined sold less than the one before it? Not to mention MS has halo coming which is shaping up to be the best shooter out. They don't need cod.
I also love how you act as if EA and these other companies are begging Sony to let them advertise with them HAHAHA SONY PAID THESE COMPANIES MONEY.
First of all folks this is nothing like the PS2 era as they didn't compete in such an aggressive way as Sony and Ms do.
Second, what kind of question is what if neither pay for exclusive content?? If neither pay for it both consoles get it. Guys take off the blinders. This is business. No developer is just going to give something to Sony just cause.
Third, attach rate is what percentage of gamers of a particular console are going to buy game X. They can ...
The only reason Activision switched over to Sony is that Sony was willing to spend more $$$$ on the exclusive content. No other reason.
Exclusive content will go to whoever spends the money to get it. Period. The end. Its not like Ubisoft will give Sony exclusive content if MS is trying to pay for it. These developers don't have fanboy bias and look at things objectively. If Sony wont pay what the developer thinks the content is worth and MS will the developer will say "bye Felisha!"
The other important aspect to developers is attach rate. the 2:1 sales advantage by Sony matters not as there a...
@GenuineUser
Not one Multiplat game has show this "40% increase". Its so hard to tell the differences that people wait with great anticipation for the DF article to come out and tell us which is better. The biggest issue you run into is that while more games have hit 1080 on the PS4 the X1 has had better framerate on several games.
You can use words like substantial all you want but you just come off as trying too hard. Kind of sad actually. Yes...
MS is going to announce a new IP at GC I think.
I really want to know more about the Campaign. The story sounds really interesting.
To all those above, you guys have no idea what you're talking, so much so I don't even know where to begin.
Market share doesn't carry over to a new gen, but when a company predicts how it will do in with a new device it looks at its current market share and extrapolates from there. Sony and MS both predicted huge sales for the PS3 and good sales for the X360. instead both had great sales, but Sony lost market share last gen based on how many people were moving fr...
I love when people try to brag about how well the PS3 did in comparison to the X360. Sony entered last-gen in a absolutely dominate market position. So much of one in fact that MS thought a distant second was the best the X360 would do in their wildest dreams. (compared to Sony as Sony and MS don't compete against Nintendo in the same way)
But in the end MS stole 50% of Sonys market share, and finished last gen basically tied. This was a huge upset for a console with li...
I don't know if you've played the other two games but they both had horrible inventory that got somewhat better in the "enhanced" versions of the games. I think we've found CDPR's weakness; bad/slow/crowded/waytof*&^ ingcomplicated inventory.
Great game though.
I am beyond excited for Halo 5. I have a feeling the SP story is going to be epic.
