game showed so much promise... only to turn out totally wack.
should have known better being sonic
the company is lazy.
the wiiu is in such a dire state, they need to get this game out the door as fast as possible, so online functionality is out the window.
the company is cutting costs, so anything more than merely playable, is a stretch too far.
says you with 2 bubbles.
if anything i am a nintendo fan. but even 20 years of nintendo gaming wont blind me to the fact marios quality is just not there anymore. in fact, nintendo on a whole has lost that magic.
not fanboyism, just my experience
who wouldnt love nintendo to have the balls to create a new (shock horror) character that doesnt belong in marios universe, and make a 2d or 3d adventure game using that character.
besides sells and the (questionable) critical acclaim, i struggle to be enthusiastic about any mario game released since the first galaxy. galaxy 2 was just milking it.
new super mario bros is a very hollow experience drained of all the magic usually associated with mario games. <...
yes. nintendo should be offering online play to those who want to use it. ie the vast majority.
having an offline multiplayer is great, and something that should always be there, BUT nintendo really need to develop their online presence.
everyday we hear devs say that their game on wiiu wont have dlc. devs have given up, and now nintendo are.
nintendo are crucifying their own console
what exactly IS nintendos focus this time around?
losing all its market share?
i say it already has. in the GAME store in the city centre, the shop window which previously had games console deals in, now only has mobile phones and tablets. that is a massive shift.
it also shows that the store knows it will make more money selling mobile phones than it will consoles.
sad times for gaming
mario sunshine is great. it was the next 3d mario game after mario 64, so it could never have lived up to the hype no matter how great it was.
i dont think its any better or worse than either of the galaxy games. in fact, i think galaxy 2 was a complete waste of time. nintendo should have moved onto another theme.
ive never played 3d land but it doesnt look very good.
has it ever been nintendo's focus.
nintendo are losing the plot
im not sure if this is a good thing.
im also not sure if the reason given to justify these remakes (ie to fill release schedule gaps) is the real reason.
i think nintendo are simply winding down on big budget, ambitious projects. lately all they have been serving up is mini game collections (wii sport, wii party and the like.) and the big games they do release, are nowhere near as ambitious as their past games. i mean, mario 3d land for wiiu is hardly mario...
lol jet force gemini.. totally forgot about that game
stubbornness to adopt the compact disc, stubbornness to embrace online, stubbornness to adopt hd, stubbornness to provide the next gen tech people want/need. nintendo always does things their way, zero compromise, to EVERYONES frustration. this is why they are in a downward spiral, if they are in one.
sony have never had the problems nintendo have because sony are forward thinking. sony at least make their consoles capable for a start. ie, they gave devs the medium (compact d...
''Why would a company care about policies made over 20 years ago?''
bad feeling doesnt disappear over night. neither does the memory. nintendo has a poor relationship with almost all third parties. if it isnt because of its greed to manufacture all carts, its the stubbornness to move onto compact disc. to destroy its relationships with 3rd parties has taken nintendo almost 30 years. that is why nintendo has such poor support today. and support is dropping by t...
i dont think they are running out of steam, i think they have always been the same. greedy. but that greed is starting to cost them now.
they have always wanted to be the number one publisher for games on their consoles, which is fair enough, but the way they go about maintaining that control is what has alienated the third parties. for example, during the NES SNES/SUPER FAMICOM/N64 days, they would insist on manufacturing the games cartridges themselves, meaning publishers h...
another wiiu game nobody wanted.
nintendo really think this is going to sell consoles?
i thought we were over this 'party game' bs with the wii. i thought wiiu was going to be for the core gamers?
nintendo need to step there game up.
''There is a middle ground here.''
lol the middle ground is mediocre.
who wants a mediocre game haha
i really dont get why they keep publishing these small projects, and try to sell the console on the strength of these light-weight games. titles like wario game and watcg, luigi wiiu, even new super mario wiiu. to me these are not big games, i imagine they are games that use very little resources to produce. wind waker hd is another example. it doesnt take much resource to update/port a game.
also games like mario 3d world, ironically are somewhere 'half-way' between ...
i totally agree.
its almost as if its not a nintendo product, or nintendo are distancing themselves from it. rather than (like a mother) nurture it, make sure its on its two feet etc, nintendo seem to have just booted it out in the wild and abandoned it. the support it gives it is minimal. which, as its developer is very concerning... just bizarre.
also makes me wonder why i should part with my money and invest in one, if nintendo doesnt even seem interested ...
my 5 or 6 unit comment was obviously made in humour but its the same principle- the numbers sold are still very low.
£40 is a lot of money to gamble on a game. if you have any sense you will do some research on a purchase before you buy it. is it any good, how long is it, does it even work etc. this is what reviews are made for. to guide your decision. now, when you have a game like sonic lost world that gets wildly mixed reviews, alarm bells should start ringing. one sh...
wishing failure on the competition is wishing your investment remains worthwhile.
i mean, during the bluray vs hd dvd battle for the number 1 next gen media format, if you invested in a bluray player, why would you want hd dvd to win? that would only make your investment obsolete. and the same is true in reverse.
it is the same with consoles. why would you want the X1 to win all the market share, if you own a ps4? that would only mean your ps4 would lose s...
